What's Up Everyone?

Today I will be sitting on the couch going through someone's photos. An odd thing to be doing I think. We were going through boxes in one of the storage buildings at the other house and came across several boxes filled with photos of somebodies family. I have no idea who. We have tried to find out who they belong to with no success. Even the people at the senior citizen center have no idea who these people are. Now is the time to start taking them out of their albums and getting rid of the photos. I hate to do this but I don't now what else to do. What would you do if you ended up with a whole bunch of photos of strangers that no one can seem to identify? Photo Credit:

Same as @DianneN, I toss them. I have enough stuff without keeping things that have no meaning to me.

I think I have done enough to try to find who they could go to, it is time to toss.

I would take pictures of them and go to social media to ask... We have had a few storage units that we lost through the years. I only WISH someone would find our pictures and give them back to me.

I am pretty sure that they belong to someone not here on earth anymore. The two people who lived with my mother are gone and my understanding is that they had no relatives that would care.

I toss them. Who wants extra baggage and clutter.

I'd be tossing them too but really, really hoping that no-one was missing them.

That's my feelings. I hope there I no one out them who would love to have them. If no one claims them soon they will be tossed.

I wonder why the albums were left behind? - some family member could have wanted them.

As we went through the other boxes in the storage we found that mixed in with my mothers things were a whiole bunch of other peoples stuff. It looks like she let other people store things in there.

How old are the photos? You might be able to scan some of them and post online to see if someone can identify who the people are. That could even make a very good "viral news story", because there are people all over the world who could potentially try and identify the people in the pictures. With so many facial recognition software programs on social media and phone apps, it is probably easier now than it ever has been before! You may also want to consider making digital copies to preserve a bit of history before you throw them away. You could do this by scanning them and upload to a website like Dropbox just in case a friend or family member would come out of the woodwork interested in them. I've recently started exploring more and more about genealogy and family history, and I think it is fascinating stuff. {I actually am starting a blog on the topic!} Sadly, many of my family members do not hold onto things like photos, nor do they want to dig up old buried stories and memories because it can be difficult when you're looking at pictures of people who have passed on or they have had problems with. Still though, it is nice to preserve some of the history and stories associated with times gone past - there are often lessons we can learn from the past to hopefully try and make the world a little better of a place in the future!

That is an idea. I wish I had the time and knowledge to do this.

I would definitely get rid of them. Why would I keep old photos of people I know nothing about.

True. The photos are now at the senior citizen center. I think I will tell them to toss them if no one claims them. I don't want them back.

Threw them away if you do not know who the people in the photos are.

They will be tossed into the round file, if not by me, then by the senior citizen center.

It made me feel bad. But, if I can't find who they should go to, out they will go.

They were in one of the storage building on the property of my house in Inverness. My mother lived in the house for several years with a couple of friends. All of them have passed away so there is no one to ask.
