What is Mylot to you?

My opinion is that as long as we all stay within the set rules/guidelines of the site mylot is what it is to each of us. We all use it but we do so differently and for differing reasons and that's why I'm still here a decade or so after joining

I see myLot differently from Facebook. FB to me is like a newspaper - news and photos of people I know and perhaps some businesses that I like - I mainly go there to lurk these days . Most people show their better sides . . . so not all is "perfect" as it may appear to be. But myLot is a place where I can actually voice things and be heard - yes, we do get paid and we get to know each other. I'd like to think we're all pretty honest here - there's no reason to be fake like sometimes people are on FB. As for discussions and even the comments here - I don't think everything has to be "deep" . . . we can present whatever we want for the most part . . . everyone has their own "style" of posts - we are "free to be" (as long as we follow the guidelines ).

For me, it is a social site much better than Facebook. People are much kinder here, usually and not always so dramatic. I guess I just care about the people here. No, I do not want to get educated here. . . or lectured. I will quit reading those who put up those kinds of posts.

I've never had a FB account, so I cannot truly draw comparisons, but I will say that myLot is the best place in my books. I like the friendships that are forged here and the fun that we have.

Post what you feel. It's easy to pass by posts of no interest and pick up those that interest.

After I joined mylot I had invitations to join many other sites - but I never did because I am very comfortable here.

Some new comers even said that they got disappointed in mylot coz most people write about their breakfast and to them it's something that is not valuable enough to be in mylot. But mylot is not a blog site nor is Mylot a facebook where you can juts make a one liner discussion. It's a discussion site that most people use as their daily journal, their learning site, their practice site, etc.

This site means a lot to me. It is a social type network and a writing site all rolled up into one. And this site has been around a long time now and already outlived many other sites like it. So MyLot to me is very special.

No, every discussion can be about whatever you want and that discussion is made mostly with tongue in cheek if I know that writer at all, and I do and for years!! I enjoy your downhome posts, you often give me ideas for things I might want to do si keep them coming, just the way they are.

I think there's something here for everyone whether it be a chat about the weather or a deep discussion about the meaning of life. I tend to gravitate towards those with similar interests to mine.

For me, myLot is more than Facebook will ever be. It's a place of friendship, understanding, people having a voice to speak what's in their heart as well as on their mind without anyone making them feel condemned or stupid. MyLot is a place of laughter and foolishness where we can laugh at ourselves as well as with each other. MyLot is a place where we can feel the deep emotions of those experiencing pain and hardship, mourning the loss of friends and loved ones, including our pets. MyLot is the best that life can offer and we are the better for it as we join in and touch each person who has the opportunity to read what we say.

Everyone is different in what they want to write about and what they are interested in reading. Please don't change your writing in any way. I love hearing about your landlady shenanigans.

First off- F@@k facebook!!! They are just another appendage to big brother. Second- if mylot were like facebook, i wouldnt be here.

I like My lot because I have met some very interesting people and there are some very good posts here and also getting paid helps me.

Mylot can be a platform where anything and everything is discussed , but I can't compare this site with face book by any means as Face Book is 'Fake Book' for me where people they present the things out of proportion for show off! Thanks dear @andreaperry !

Just write what you want to write but always see to it to convey a heart in it. Mylot is not a simple earning site, many here are in the process of healing. Doctors says that writing is a great healing for depression and other stuff that is why some of the people are in here staying, and getting comfort and advised from each other. God bless.

Not essential that every discussion should have some deep learning here at mylot. As Mylot permits to write about anything provided you don't break the rules here.

I like my lot I have leaned a lot about people from other countries.

mhLot is somewhere where i write stuff sometimes.

myLot is good for my mental health..I can have contact with nice people and pass by the know it alls.
