"Have you ever tried to celebrate your pet's birthday?"

It is my late father’s dog’s birthday today. ‘Putot’ turned 8 years old. It has been a long time that I haven’t shared any photos of her. I wish that she will live longer than my golden retriever. Aside from Rose who had her kittens in the house, ‘Putot’ had been loyal to the family and continue to protect the house from strangers. You might wonder “Why her name is Putot?” The word ‘Putot’ means short in English. Physically, she doesn’t have a long tail as compared to the other dogs. "Do you celebrate your pet's birthday?" It is nice if we know their birthdates. But then, it is also nice to have them. We can give all the love that they needed.

Happy birthday to Putot! My friend did actually have a birthday party for her dog . . . dog guests were also invited and they even had a cake made especially for dogs .

I like the scene of it. Honestly, I haven't tried to have a big party for a dog. 'Putot' got a big meal on her birthday. It would be fun if I am going to invite the dog owners and their pets. Thinking that I need to have a budget for that party. It would cost me a lot of money for that. Whew!

What a great time that would have been - having a birthday party for a dog.

I have not particularly celebrated any birthday of our pets but do remember the dates. Wish Putot for me.

I will, my friend. She had a fun time with a special meal for today. That is a dog food with milk.

I am sure she will live longer. As far as I could remember, you left her in your hometown, right? I think I read your comment about it before. My apology if I am mistaken.

She is really lovely, my friend. I also sometimes described her sweet with fierce. No one attempts to get inside the gate without her approval.

I am sorry to hear that. It is nice to remember our pets. My golden retriever a few months back and still remembers him, too. He always had a big meal.

I hope she will live a lot longer. My Golden Retriever lived 11 years which is considered a normal life span for the breed but my mixed breeds, all large dogs, lived between 13 and 15 years. Mom had small dogs, both mixes, that lived 16 and 17 years. Putot is a beauty. Actually I don't celebrate any birthdays, I always seem to forget but we do celebrate waking up alive

I hope she does @Shavkat most mixed breeds are stronger and seem to live longer than pure breeds. Don't feel bad, just like humans some have short lives while others have long ones.

@rebelann I agree. It is a life cycle. I am also thinking to have a chihuahua. However, it is not the right time.

When I was young my family and I celebrated our dog's 10th birthday. We put a party hat on his head and sang happy birthday to him with a cup cake.

Most of the pets we'd had we haven't known the birth dates so we haven't been able to celebrate their birthdays. It's a nice idea though.

What a cute dog. I celebrate the birthday of my dogs. I think it is nice to do so and I buy a little treat for them and pamper them for the day. I video us during the day so I can have a nice memory of my dog in the future too.
