My whole life was a lie!
I just found out I was dumb to not know that NEWS is an acronym and it stands for Notable Events Weather and Sports!
Tsk tsk tsk
NOPE! Not really
Whoever has popularized this bogus fact!
Moral of the Story: Don't be stupid! Stop believing everything you read on the net!
News was never an acronym. Its a noun in plural form but singular in construction. Try asking Mr. Webster.
However, this fake "fact" seemed to have fooled many and even went on to become viral.
Perhaps, we really haven't given much thought to where the word news came from. We see it every day, we hear about it every day.
What news have you heard recently?
Whatever it is just make sure its not fake!

Yes, news is simply news a report of recent events; noun - one word; definitely not an acronym and those who made up that NEWS is an acronym is spreading so called "fake fact"

They do under report in some cases @pitsipeahie just look how they reported on Hurricane Harvey, it was devastating to the whole southeastern seaside between Houston and Corpus Christi yet all they talked about was Houston.

A lot of "bogus facts" are circulating the net. We really shouldn't just take in everything we read.

I try to research every fact that the "net" provides before I pass it along. I've seen way too much fake news....some is so easy to spot I'm amazed at the people who fall for it.

You'll be amazed how people sometimes are not thinking to be fooled by something that is obviously not true if only they'd given it much thought or deep thought and not just accept everything they read as it is.
But I guess, that's just how it is with the net now a days! Fake is everywhere.

Yeah, come to think of it. How people could come up with seeminly 'interesting acronymn' when news was never an acronymn in the first place.

Interesting indeed. When I write about something and it seems the letters are put together from a succession of words I always make sure I mention what the letter spell.

The one who thought about the idea has come up with something almost believable and made people fall for it. The 'bogus fact' of news being an acronymn went viral.
This is not true of course, news was never an acronymn. Its a noun, one word, that's it.
