I'd been at the salon all day
and a fortune I had to pay,
I had my hair coiffed
my skin was made soft,
wondered what my husband would say.
I got home and waltzed through the door
he'd like my new look I was sure,
but he didn't see
this lovely fresh me
my glamour he chose to ignore.
Annoyed that my new style he'd missed
I almost smacked him with my fist
and if looks could kill
he'd be very ill
as I really was very p ..... cross.
I went to the hairdresser the other day, and when I got back my husband said "When are you going to the hairdresser?"!! Sheesh - have you had anything like that happen to you?

My hubs is a man who is bright
After years he has seen the light
He loves my new do's
Be it hair, dresses or shoes
But never says I look a fright

Not lately. Unless you change your hairstyle a man may never notice.

This is like my husband telling me when I tried out a new dish. It is nice Grace but please do not make it again.

That's funny..however, when I get my hair cut I usually just get a trim so I guess forgiveness can be given!

If my husband won't notice my new hairdo, I would just ask him if he thinks I'm beautiful. Hahah!

@jaboUK Hahaha! I can remember one time, after I had my hair done, I asked him if he noticed something different about me. He said "oh, you have a new pair of earrings!" and I said "no, that's not it." He said, "hmmm, your lipstick color is pretty". I was about to get pissed then he said, "I'm just kidding. I noticed your new hair color and it's beautiful." It melted my heart.

@galileo2008 Your husband sounds nice. Mine is too, we've been married for nearly 53 years so I'm used to him not noticing things. He makes up for it in other ways

Sadly men do not always notice these things. They might think something is different but may not say anything which to a lady may upset her. I remember telling a student nurse she could attend one of my lectures the next day if she wished. Two days later I said to her it was a shame she missed out on it as it was really quite interesting. She said but I was there sitting in the front row. I told her I had not see her she told me she had a different wig on!............

@garymarsh6 I've noticed that men often like their ladies to have long hair, especially if she wore it like that when they first fell in love with them.

@jaboUK Funnily enough many years ago I went to the USA for 3 weeks when I came back I saw her from the back and my heart sank because I thought gawd whats her bleeding sister doing here. She turned around and it was my wife. She had had her hair all lopped off. I think that was perhaps the only time I was left speechless as her hair was so long and reached right down her back. I was quite devastated and shocked.

In my home, every man notices it coz it is a rare thing for women to go out of their way to get pampered. So it is easy to notice when something has changed.

@jaboUK In my family or community for that matter, women or even men don't cut their hairs ever and prefer simple living. In India, beauty treatments (and health treatments) first start from home remedies. You know about Ayurveda or yoga? or even homoeopathy. To this date people prefer ayurvedic treatments over conventional medicine. You can even do graduation on the subject.
The beauty treatment for example: (Mustard + turmeric + milk + rose water) paste used a face mask for cleaning dust off the skin and for removing facial hair.

Unfortunately, yes ... I have been that husband (not yours, of course, but from the same planet). I didn't however say anything like "When are you going to the hairdresser?". I just didn't notice any change (even when it was pointed out that the hair was at least a couple of inches shorter!)

@jaboUK It happens all the time. When I worked as a bookseller, I once had a full beard and moustache and decided to shave the beard off (leaving the moustache). After two days, my boss (who saw me several times a day) said, "There's something different about you. Have you grown a moustache?"

I have had "I donĀ“t care much for that haircut".
Men can be very cutting indeed when they are all ruffled up for some reason.
But most of the time he compliments me on the style and everything.
Love the poem too smashing.

OMG, let me at him @jaboUK !!! I love the poem but still....dag nab it!!! I guess shaving your head bald would be out of the question. Although you could get one of those head thingies that some people use under a wig. That would freak him out.
