I have just read another article about the shooting incident in Florida. It seems that lessons have NOT been learnt and whilst for a few days people will talk about it and express their shock and anger it will be yesterdays news before you know it.
Who is to blame? Well the people are to blame because each and everyone who finds this abhorrent should be knocking on the door of their congressman demanding that something be done to prevent this happening again.
What happens most people will complain about it among themselves but actually do nothing.
There have been so many incidents in the USA and we get to hear about them over here in the UK as do most of the world. Tell me why anyone outside the army needs to own a semi automatic rifle and for what purpose. None of these should ever be sold to people outside the military. You only have yourselves to blame.
So many people have a downer on Donald Trump. The only thing he can do for the good of the country is to initiate into law the ban and sale of semi automatic weapons to the public. Full stop end off. Anyone in possession should have the guns removed from them. Why on earth would any one need such a harmful weapon.
We had an incident here in the UK in 1996 when some oddball went into a school and shot 16 kids a year later another oddball went through a village picking people off one by one. Gun laws were introduced to an outcry of depriving people who enjoyed shooting as a hobby never the less gun laws were tightened up. The death rate has significantly reduced due to these laws.
How many remember the recent incidents that occurred in Las Vegas. This was different this guy had many such weapons.
To my friends in the USA the ball is in your court. Lobby your congressman and representatives. Be vocal be loud and be persistent. This is not going away.
Do you value the life of your kids, your grand children?
Don't sit back and let your loved ones become another statistic that is going to be forgotten within days !
If you do not like the tone of my post then you are part of the problem. Do something about it.

@garymarsh6 That's okay - you weren't far off. My homeland Guyana is quite close to Trinidad even though it is in South America - , but my immediate family are all over - Canada, the U.K., the Caribbean - where I presently reside.

I agree. No one outside of the military should have these kind of weapons @garymarsh6 .

Absolutely. Lobby your congress representative and tell them it is unacceptable.

@garymarsh6 Yes it does. I understand that they have to set up those shows in advance but they could have pulled the AR15's from the tables.

Lobby your member of congress even if it means sending him an email which is two minutes of your time.. After all they were elected to represent the people and your wishes.

The ramifications are so far reaching not just for the person shot but their families friends and the whole community. There will always be people with mental health issues around but by taking temptation out of their reach will make it more difficult to obtain them in the first place surely???

You do make a very good point about the semi automatic weapons. I was just telling my husband two days ago, and he agreed with me that semi automatic weapons should not be allowed for the public. I will write or call my congressman about it.
