Yesterday, we had barbeque. Nothing fancy, just marinated wings and corn thrown onto grilling pit.
The thing with bbq, it is all about the protein. The corn is by now forgotten.
So today I opened the fridge to find a container of cold rice and a bucket of grilled corn.
I am so not letting them loitering in the fridge for long, so this happened.
I prep the corn, mix with the rice, add a chicken cube, and reheat the rice.
It turned out fine.
People, never waste food.
And people, never fear to cheat in cooking.

when we fry rice, we use salt and fresh garlic pounded on a marble mortal and pestle then peeled.

Yes, garlic is good. I should have put some just now. I forgot. Maybe because I wasn't frying the rice, I just reheat it in the rice cooker.

Yup, waste not.
I did enjoy the rice, thank you. We ate it with some beef soup. Initially my mom said "Did you just reheat yesterday's rice?" to which I replied with a tiny nod. But then everyone ate it. Even my mom finished her plate, and no one is saying anything more.
I am glad I tried.

@shaqziad1610 That's good. My sister has the same philosophy as you have: waste not. She is scrupulous about every little food.

Yes, that sounds good too. Maybe I will do that next time I had leftover rice. Thanks for the tip!

It is a lousy recipe, but it suited our taste. Thanks!

No, no point in wasting good food. It sounds like a good side dish.

That sounds really tasty. I throw a lot of things together on Fridays because there is a little of everything left, throw in an egg to tie it all together, and then I either have egg drop soup or scrambled eggs with vegetables in them.

I get you. For me, fridge clean-up is also mostly done on Friday too, because we usually went grocery shopping on Friday evening.

That's literally a rice with corn. In my country, we use to eat grind corn as a rice. It's much cheaper compare to the real rice.
