A concerned citizen saves the life of an elderly man trapped in a house fire

Samantha Barhouse is being called a heroine for risking her life to save the life of a 77 year old man who could not leave the burning apartment building in Antioch California on Saturday morning. A caretaker was cooking a meal for the 77 year old man who has a fractured hip that prevented him from leaving the two bedroom apartment. Since the caretaker could not get the elderly man out of the burning apartment, a concerned citizen named Samantha Barhouse who lives across the street saw the flames coming out of the apartment. Samantha then went inside the burning home to rescue the elderly man just before the flames before the Conta Costa firefighters and the Antioch police officers arrived to assist anyone who needed help. The elderly man and Samantha were taken to a local hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. Even though the elderly man lost his home due to the fire, he is still alive and should be able to find some temporary housing soon,
