Hello, everyone! I know that in 1950s-1980s higher education was something prestigious, which opened such extra opportunities as a good job and a way to make a successful career. Personally, I finished college and then received a higher education and graduated from a university some years ago. For the last years, I have noticed that those who do not have a higher education build great careers and become extremely successful. With the development of the Internet, a presence of your diploma does not seem to be obligatory for achieving something great. I would like to know points of view of different people. Please, share your experience and ideas. Do you think that higher education is still important like before? Have you finished a university? Would you like your children to receive a higher education? If you did not receive a higher education, have you ever regret it? Can higher education be replaced with other courses nowadays?

Education is not necessary if you have skill and good communication. For example a gold smith's son doesn't need any education ,by experience itself he can learn from his father.

It is good to get education but not necessary. Each individual has their own special skills and talents. In my country, I would prefer if the education system changed to nurture those individual talents. At present, it is more focused on academic. I wish children to develop and understand individuality!!!!

I went to university in 1969-70. I finished one year and realized it wasn't for me. I never regretted quitting.

Masha - what a great name. Is it an alternative to Maria, as I have heard Maria Sharapova called that on occasions?

Its depends on you in which you want to be successful in life if its related to study then I am sure that higher education is required but if you want to be singer, dancer and something like that then its not necessary to have higher education diploma is enough But its my opinion.everyone has different different opinions and you are right that diploma is not really a big achievement now a days. I hope you like itand Its really a good to topic to discuss loved it

It depends on your career path. As long as you received a good educational foundation in high school college is not needed for many skill professions.

Well in India, higher education still does matter. Yes many people are succeeding in new career avenues which do not depend on just degrees and diplomas.

It is important if you do not know what you want to do, what are you good at or still honing your talent.

It depends. We are all kinds of masses of habits. With efforts on repeating something to develop those habits, we sharpen our skills to sell something. That is where the rub is.
