This Old House was a television show here in the US, but the house in the photo was built brand new.
This house in the photo used to be our younger son's house. He sold it for a wonderful price, and the new owners also bought most of his furniture and patio furniture.
After the closing, his realtor presented him and his bride with this beautiful water color of his "old" house, which is filled with memories. This was the first home he ever owned.
Now he is living in our house while we are in Florida. The newlyweds will rent an apartment when we return home, while they look for a new home in which to create new memories together.
How many homes haves you lived in? Not counting college or our vacation home, I've lived in five homes to date.

That's a nice souvenir! I only bought one house which I sold after the divorce. My parents owned 4 homes.

Thank you! He loves that watercolor. His agent had it commissioned by a local artist friend of hers. My parents only owned two homes. Personally, my husband and I have owned 3, not counting our vacation condo. Do you live in an apartment now?

@DianneN Yes, I live in an apartment. Living alone, I am quite content with it. There is little to do to upkeep it and I have more time to do what I like.

@DianneN Oops 4 houses. The first one I lived in until I was 6. That was both my sister and my favorites. It was huge and I always wanted to live there again when I grew up. Not to much land to it though.
The second house I lived in until I was 18. I hated that house I always felt afraid there. That's where my parents still live.
This 4th house I live in now I feel safe and secure but it is about half the size of the second house. It was my grandparents house so I spent a lot of time here. It has 3.5 acres. House needs a lot of work but it's expensive so I do a little each year a new window or two etc.

What a nice realtor to give him that - that's a really thoughtful gift! With my family I lived in 2 homes - but the first one we moved out of when I was 2, so I don't remember that one. Hubby and I rented a one bedroom, then a 2 bedroom at another complex, then a 3 bedroom at that same complex . . . and how we have our own home. So I guess that makes 6!

@DianneN It's beautiful as I'm sure the house and its memories are too! I am glad we have a home too . . . but I still hope one day we can move to a better area. We have some drama going on next door at the moment . . . wish us luck!!

@much2say Thank you! He was very proud of that house, and we all miss it for now. Oh, no! Those neighbors are at it again?
I wish you luck and hopefully, sooner than later, you will find a home not near such nuts! It doesn't hurt to look.

I can't remember how many homes we lived in. My husband was climbing the ropes to a better job and the one he wanted, we moved almost every year for a lot of years, He got what he wanted and we moved to Canada and here we bought our first home, Because we knew we would move, we rented for years. Kansas probably 11/12 times, Indiana once, Missouri once. We've been in Canada for over 30 years now.

@DianneN every move was an adventure, some really good and some not so great, but as we aged and the children grew it was important to stay in one place for their sake, when they were small it really was an adventure.

@PainsOnSlate I agree. Kids eventually need stability and school.

I have lost count of how many homes I have lived in throughout my lifetime. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count on for that! LOL
I lived in apartments most of my life. Never owned a home until 2 years ago when we bought the place we are living in now. Hoping to buy some land with a home within the next few years. Hubby would like to build a home, but I prefer to have one that I can walk in and set up housekeeping.

@DianneN The earlier ones were flats but the last one was my dream that became a reality.

That is a lovely picture for their memories. We lived in 1 duplex, 1 apartment & 1 rental house before we bought the house we have been living in for nearly 27 years.

It was a very thoughtful gift and he truly treasures it. I miss his home. He kept it spotless and took such good care of it. Thanks!
I am very excited to see what he buys next. He wants to be close to us and his wife's parents, which makes my heart burst!!!!
You've certainly had a lot of homes! Wowie wow!

Before I married I lived in too many to count. You know I'm an Air Force Brat and we moved so much. My husband and I have had 6 homes.
