A scene of tragedy on my route to work

Last night four people died in an explosion in a shop in Leicester, this being on the road I use on my way to work.
The bus I take into town every Monday afternoon stops right outside the shop in question, and people get off who might well include the victims of this blast.
It looks as though there might have been an accumulation of leaked gas that exploded - although this has yet to be confirmed.
The shop - a convenience food store run by a Polish family - has just disappeared, as has the 2-floor apartment above it. It is not yet known if the casualties - other people were injured as well as those who died - were in the shop, the apartment, or outside - possibly customers of the bar next door who were using the bus stop as a smoking shelter.
A tragedy like this - which is currently the main item of the national UK news - becomes so much more real when it happens at a place you know well. Not only was this a shop that I must have passed hundreds of times over the years, but it is only a short distance from the dental practice I visited only last week.

That's really tragic. When things like that happen it makes me thing what if I was near that place when it exploded.
