Can you keep a secret?

I just got a new subwoofer. Installing it meant I had to move the the four Dynaco A-25s that were sitting atop my old subwoofer. In my kitchen, I noticed that the surfaces of the Dynaco A-25 had faded a bit over the two year period since I had restored them. I re-did one of those surfaces (and am currently working on the others). My secret for getting two years out of a refinish? When I oil the speakers I work on, I use 0000 steel wool, rather than a simple cloth. It "grinds" the oil into the surface and means you need to polish the speakers up less often. Please don't tell anyone about this, as it is one of my wood restoration secrets.

A good tip on wood restoration could make you rich... We got a full woofer about 8 months ago, he's grown a bit since then though

@Marty1 Thorin is his name. Sounds like your doggy niece is not far off Thorin's dimensions either.

Trade secrets are to be never revealed. I use two teaspoons of sugar in Sambhar, and cover ladies finger for a minute immediately after seasoning. My top secrets which fetch me so much appreciation all over.

Heh. Most people don't. A female friend told me not to tell ANYONE about my hobby. She said I would never get hugged by anyone over seven again.

@rebelann Do you use pony's technique when sanding and oiling your plastic speakers, Ann? (grinning and teasing you!) If you get time and feel like it, you should call and chat with me again. Let me see, I am not working on Wednesday and Thursday this week and Tuesday and Thursday next week.

This has very little to do with the content of the post, but is that a picture of a humpback whale in the background?

I bought, years ago, a wood restoration kit, there is the 0000 steel wool inside. I used it to remove a scratch made by a guest on our dining table.

@TheHorse Yes, it's great, you should know how to use it, but with a little practice you can do a great job.

@LadyDuck It's hard to mess things up with 0000 steel wool, unless you press to hard on one area for too long.
