Hi everyone! I hope you're enjoying the slightly warmer weather and the approaching of spring... I have a question for all of you: are there any customs in your country or in your tradition that make you celebrate spring and what are they.?

In Switzerland we "burn" Winter to celebrate the arrival of Spring. A figure of a snowman (called the Böögg) prepared with explosives is burned on a stake. A quick explosion of the Böög, promises a warm and sunny summer. The celebration is called Sechseläuten, this year it will be held the 16th of April.

@MaciMaci I never went, it's up in the north of Switzerland. I am sure it's interesting.

No culture in my country celebrates any aspect of the weather. I wonder what they'd call it if they did.

Nothing in particular here that I know of. I just can’t wait to get out in a t-shirt

@macimaci Spring comes and Spring goes - I notice it happening and contemplate it joyfully but that’s all.

We only have two seasons in the Philippines, the wet and dry season. But we have many festivals with religious traditions celebrated at different times of the year.
