What would you have done in a flirty situation?

flirty situation

Do you find that people tend to flirt with you even when you tell them that you are not interested? A friend of mine recently told me about her encounter with a man. She had told him at the bar where they met that she had a relationship and she was satisfied. She just wanted to have some good time at the bar. But eventually, the man put his hands on her thigh. He was literally flirting with her. What disturbed her was that she laughed over it and when the man put his hands on her butt, she slapped him but later laughed over it. She said she seemed to be enjoying the attention but now she feels guilty as if she had encouraged him. What would you have done if you found that you were flirty? Listening to her story made me realize that sometimes I had been flirty myself. What if I find a girl who is also flirty and didn’t want to listen to my story that I was in a serious relationship? It brings guilty feelings as if you are cheating on someone else. Is there a way to prevent a flirty situation? What would you have done?

I don't mind if someone flirts with me - but there are boundaries. Like definitely no touching or lewd comments.

Does it mean that you can keep a relationship and still flirt without guilt?

@Kandae11 But if you accept someone flirting with you, you are then flirting although doing it passively. How would your other half feel if he learned that you accepted it. Wouldn't he still equate it to initiating it?

@mydanods I didn't say that I was the one flirting. And I won't be doing it either - I am not the flirty type.

Lol, kinda hard for me to weigh in on this one, considering I'm a flirty person myself, so.....

That means you don't believe in being serious with a relationship or staying in one for a long time?

@librarygeek1980 Have you had relationships during any of the time you flirted? Serious relationships?

Puting your hands on somebody is defintely crossing a line. If you laugh about it or act like it's cute it is just going to encourage the person.

I think that's a fact young people should appreciate.

the flirting is one thing but copping a feel was really inappropriate of him

My husband would not like me flirting with another man at all, although I'm often hit on. Men better be very, very careful these days!

Men better be very careful. They are going beyond their boundaries.

@aureliah Don't mind them. They will reap what they sow. Just hold on to your faithfulness.

What do you think. Assuming you have a relationship that you want to be faithful in?

@mydanods Being faithful is not a problem for me. The problem is others find it hard and mess up a relationship.

@mydanods I would have told him that I just want to sit here and enjoy talking and that I told you I was in a relationship and not looking for another one or gotten up and walked out.
