This picture exactly depicts what I wanted to say. Yes! These days everyone are using smartphones... no age limit... starting from 2 year old babies till old age people.. everyone is addicted to it!
These days parents are encouraging their kids to use it . Even my niece (2 years old) needs smartphone or else she'll not eat..!so, my sisy gives her baby mobile while eating alone!
I think kids has to be sent out to play atleast in the evening time . If they keep on using smartphone they don't have physical activities ..thus result in obesity and all other health issues! This is not only for kids but for everyone!
They can be provided with smartphone but time restrictions has to be there! If they're using it continuously they'll soon suffer from eyesight problem!

I'm not addicted to a smartphone or any other kind of phone. I'm not addicted to anything. When it comes to phones, my kids are adult enough to make their own decisions. My decisions regarding them having a phone when they were growing up was financial. I just wouldn't pay for the service. If they wanted it they had to go get it. Same thing with computers and laptops, tablets, etc. They made their own decisions about buying anything electronic.
Now my daughter who has a daughter who just turned 9 years old recently bought her little one a phone. I get it. She's a single parent and she needs to be able to get in touch with her child and she wants her child be able to reach her. Especially with the situations in our public schools where you never know if there will be a mass shooting!
Smartphone or any other kind of mobile device. If you have an addiction that's a secondary concern when you consider that the phone is now an important tool in your survival kit!
Sorry. I know I took the conversation in another direction but I had to say that.

I am not addicted to my smartphone, but I like it.
But I wouldn't give a smartphone to a child. It's not for kids.

@Teekaaa I guess it is one or two hours. I use it when I go to work and back on subway and I check it at my lunch break.

I own a smartphone I am not really obsessed with it but I do need it. I would encourage my kids to have one but to not be obsesses or addicted to it but sadly we do not know how it will turn out when we have kids and when they get introduced to smartphones cause the young generation now all they think about is cellphones.
