I know that I have written before about having a chippy tea ...something folk in England will understand but maybe others in different parts of the world will not ....
A chippy tea is simply chips from the chip shop ...sometimes with a fish too.
The reason for writing about this now is that we also had 'batters' tonight ....
I did have to explain what 'batters' were but the staff were very eager to help out ....
simply the batter that they would usually use to coat the fish......deep fried !
Absolutely delicious....
Of course not too many as they are full of grease....which is probably why they are so nice !
I know that they are sometimes called 'scraps' or 'bits'.....
What are they called in your part of the country ...or world ?

They are both delicious and unhealthy ....we do only have them a few times a year and only as a treat .

When I go to Long John Silver's, I always ask for "extra crispys". AKA: leftover batter
