Shoe of False Hope

Philippines
March 12, 2018 3:04am CST
I had a talk in my past discussion about a tailor who wanted to borrow shoes from me. The reason is that his son was in a scheduled interview, and the second time I finally lend it to her. But today she came back with my shoe and I was shocked to see the heels broken. He didn't noticed it until he was about to hump on an PUJ vehicle and saw it. Rushed back home and forced to wear rubber shoes because He didn't want to be late. Talk about nuisance, I told her that I haven't used leather for a while. I apologize though.

the same thing happened to me! i borrowed one of my parent's sneakers. when i got off the jeepney and walking to the entrance of the mall, the soles crumbled like powder! just like your leather shoes, those sneakers were probably worn a few times only and just gathering dust in their shoe racks, so i decided to use them. good thing, at the entrance, they were selling flip-flops so i bought one then went to the ladies room.

Hello @hereandthere At least you were able to save yourself from trouble and was able to buy something else to wear. I felt bad for the guy.

@Letranknight2015 yeah, it was inconvenient because he had to go back home. let's just hope the interview went well in spite of his footwear and that he gets the job. i think for both leather shoes or sneakers, they have to be worn once in a while so they don't end up like that. you can still take that to a shoes and bag repair shop to have a new sole put in.

As long as you gave it in good faith, you don't have to feel bad about the shoe.

Hello @mydanods maybe I shouldn't have offered it in the first place, but yeah you're right.

I think you cannot control things up. I am sure she will understand it.

@Letranknight2015 In my opinion, we did our best to help out. With such incident, it is inevitable. We can consider a blooper experience if he takes it positively.

Hello @Shavkat Oh, well at least I tried to help her son. It's horrible how he rushed going back.

And for sure you didn't know about it and you didn't mean it. And besides you are just being kind but there are things we cannot control.

Hello @JustBhem I forgot that it was sent by my mom's cousin and it was years back. That time I had to change the rubber shoes because the heels were broken. I didn't realize I had to do the same with this one.

@Letranknight2015 I see. Well, looks like the shoe is retiring.
