Bills Bills BILLS!

I never realized what I'd be in for when I decided to move to a new apartment. Electricity and phone was included in the rent at my old place so I never needed to pay any monthly bills except internet. Now in my new place, which has heat and hot water included but not power or phone, I received my first monthly bills in almost four years. The two of them together amount to over $300! Thats going to take a slice out of me financially come the end of the month! Hookup fees are included in the first bills and that is what put the bills up so high. Hopefully by the end of April they wont be so high.

Oh dear, I am sorry to hear it. But I know how this is, went through this many times, many moves. It is big bills at first too. Depending on the place, some companies would let me pay out the hook up fees by smaller payments each month. See if they have that option for you if you like. Though that is few and far between nowadays.

I only have the two bills on top of my rent. It was the hookup fees in the first month that put them up so high. Thanks for your comment! :-)

@Starmaiden we cant get internet out where we live because its in the middle of nowhere, so I have to rely on hotspot connections.

That's a very unpleasant surprise! You'll have to adjust your budget and probably eliminate or cut back on some things. I hope you have cool summers and don't have to spend a lot on cooling the place!

I think I'll be ok in the summer. My apartment faces northeast so I dont get much sunshine during the day. Besides, there is a huge tree just off my balcony that will provide good shade on hot, humid days. :-)

That's definitely a lot of money. Hopefully, you're able to budget accordingly and things aren't so high next month.

I have 3 bills: rent, electricity and internet. They cost around $100 a month. It is a fixed expense. Good luck to us paying our bills.
