Who is Jesus Christ?

Today, as in the first century when Jesus walked the earth, there are many opinions and thoughts regarding Jesus Christ, from being the Almighty God to being a myth.
Who do you think is Jesus Christ? Is he a good teacher, a prophet, a god, God, a myth, etc?
How do you view Jesus Christ?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
John 3:16 (King James Version) "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
* God reveals the depth of his love for you and me and everyone else by sending his Son from heaven to the earth to repurchase us. Do we appreciate the depth of God's love?
* Jesus is God's only begotten Son, very special, very dear and precious to him. Do we appreciate the pain that God felt to see his dear Son humiliated, insulted, tortured and killed like the worst of criminals?
* If we put faith in Jesus, we will not perish or cease to exist but have the hope of living again and living forever.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jesus Christ, is the Almighty God's solution to all our problems caused by disobedience and rebelliousness now and forever. Jesus is the future King of the world and will bring true peace and true prosperity to all who put their faith in him. Can we be more like him in showing love for all?

"Jesus is God in the flesh." Could you explain that a bit and share some verses on that?

@just4him Doesn't son imply birth and beginning?
Any verses that say that God is three persons?

@1hopefulman For you and me, yes, that is true, however, God is eternal, and he has three separate characteristics, each with a purpose, and they are all one.
Yes.
1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (KJV)

@NoorNoor Yes, there are many prophets but Jesus is the Son of God. The Bible says that over and over and over. Of course, you are free to believe what you like, as we all are.

@1hopefulman Due to some misunderstandings, there is some confuson about who he really is.. I recommend every one to read this, and compare with the Bible..
Get accurate Bible answers: Is Jesus God? Where did Jesus come from? What kind of person was he? How is Jesus the promised Messiah?

That's what I think too!
Some think he was God Almighty and equal to God, what do think of that?

@NoorNoor Thanks for sharing your views about Jesus that are mentioned in the Quran. We can see that The Bible and the Quran have different views about Jesus.
Matthew 17:5 (American Standard Version) 5 While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

@1hopefulman Because The quran tells Jesus peace be upon him is no more than a prophet.
“And (remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): ‘O 'Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: “Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allah?”’ He will say: ‘Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the All-Knower of all that is hidden (and unseen).
‘Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allah) did command me to say: “Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.” And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them, and You are a Witness to all things’”
[al-Maa’idah 5:116-117].

@1hopefulman He was born from a good man and woman; therefore, he must have been very gifted in terms of intuition. He must had realized it and then he let his self intuition drive his life and all he did while on earth

@Bluedoll Well, to each his own! We each like different things and we have a choice as to what discussions we read and comment on, so there is no reason to ban a topic that touches the majority of humankind.

@1hopefulman It could be described like that but I was thinking more on the lines that some people love or appreciate Jesus Christ and others hate the idea of any religious topics. I think I'm inclined to think that after I read how a couple of members thought that religious topics should be banned on the site. Of course that is only their opinion. I'm happy to see that the comments you are getting are positive to discussion and if i might compliment you on your approach with people. Well done. :-)

if he existed at all, he was just another cult leader of the time he lived with much attributed to him that did not and could not have happened - that would be my view

I’m thinking that maybe God should have demanded cooperation rather than obedience...

Let's think about that!
One can refuse to be cooperative just as one can refuse to be obedient.
However, the relationship between people and God is not one of equality but a relationship between a parent and a child. Until the child matures, obedience is important and to God we will always be children as we will never become equals of God.
I had wonderful parents and if we live to be billions of years, we will never be equal as they they will always be my parents and I owe them obedience, respect and cooperation.
I appreciate your comment!

@epiffanie Yes, I was blessed with great parents. I know that it is not the lot of all but it was mylot.
I don't have a problem with obedience nor cooperation as I think both are important in life.
Being in union does not mean equality as Jesus also said that his Father was greater than he was.

@1hopefulman you are blessed to have wonderful parents... Not all parents deserved to be respected and obeyed... because some are irresponsible, dysfunctional and abusive ...
I believe that obedience creates master slave relationship which could lead to fear and resentment.. whereas cooperation creates harmony and unity .which leads to love, respect and trust. “I am in union with the father and you are in union with me”, that’s what Jesus said to his followers....

I mostly refer in my faith to the Lord. In my own way, I am referring to Jesus for He is my Lord and he guides me. I never start a day without my morning prayer and say the Lord's prayer at night. I know He does a lot to help me through this life because i have had some really devastating moments but I never fell apart and that is because I never let go of His hand.

We probably have to "get personal" with Jesus for him to become real to us.
The other week, I had a bad cold, with a sore throat, and I could not sleep. My breathing was laboured. Every breath was painful, as it irritated the sore throat, every time that I breathed.
I decided to ask Jesus for his suggestion to help me to get some sleep.
Jesus told me to get up and to gargle my throat with the mouthwash, which I had in my bathroom. I did this, and after that, I was able to sleep for the rest of the night.
Later, the next day, I asked Jesus why it was that I had to experience such a painful night before, and right on Easter.
Jesus told me that this event was about letting me experience some of the pain that Jesus suffered at Easter.
Jesus added that,
"Love never limits itself, and I love you unconditionally, and yet the trials of love require you to suffer occasionally, as did I, simply to allow you to shine forth greater love on others by this, than which could shine on them otherwise, and which they need because they have become darkened to love by sin."
I questioned Jesus, then if these events were really real, or not.
"Yes, Steve, both of these instances were me talking direct to your soul, via your heart of love, which you should try to keep open to me, at all times."

Jesus, like happiness, is forever just about as real for us as we believe him to be real for us.

That is getting sort of being pals Steve with Jesus or more like mates!
That means also you feel confident to ask for help due to your overall lifestyle.
I communicate with the departed who were close to me and get a response that guides and soothes me.
I believe they are in a realm to help me but then I have to be worth their efforts and not let them down by my actions - siva

Jesus is an ascended Master, sent to earth to share His Message of Love and Faith. I believe He came to demonstrate to the people not only His own ability to ascend and become as God, but to inform them that they too, as children of God, have the Christ Consciousness within them and the ability to ascend. They only need to master themselves and bring it to the surface. In other words...Live by His Example.

@1hopefulman , The one thing that ties the divided together is the singular belief in one God, the universal creator of all things in the universe. From Him all good things come. One in being with the father.

@lookatdesktop Anthony, the problem is that there are divisions in every religious group and they fight each other and kill each other. There are very few religious groups that will not go to war. Maybe not even a few, maybe just one or two.
