Wayang is Indonesia's native art performances that thrive in Java and Bali. The show is also popular in some areas such as Sumatra and Malaya Peninsula also has some wayang culture that is influenced by Javanese and Hindu culture.
UNESCO, the cultural institution of the United Nations, on November 7, 2003 established the wayang as the famous puppet show of Indonesia, a legacy of the world's invaluable masterpieces of the Masterpiece of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
Actually, puppet shows not only exist in Indonesia because many other countries that have puppet shows. But the puppet shadow show (Puppet) in Indonesia has its own style of speech and uniqueness, which is the original masterpiece of Indonesia. For this reason UNESCO incorporated it into the List of Intellectual Cultural Heritage Representative in 2003.
