What was the moment you decided you were poor?

I decided I was poor the moment I recovered from a long illness that lasted for several years. I had not been working and had to depend on handouts from family and friends. One day, I told myself it should not continue like that so I decided to look for jobs online. The first one I found was beermoneyforum but mylot pays better. So here I am. Working but still poor. So, as for you, what was the moment you decided you were poor?

It is when our business partners stole money, betrayed and cheated on us simply because they thought they knew better how to run the business. Then I realized the business was not gaining profit simply because they were buying stuff unnecessary for the business. We were left with nothing. We invested in that business only to be cheated on.

That must have left you bitter. Did you continue in that business since you had lost money in it?

@mydanods Yes of course. It was one of my lowest times. I did venture other businesses but did not continue with that said business. And I made sure my business is with my sibling not other people.

I don't feel poor. Although by Australian standards we are not rich as we are on a pension we are certainly 'rich' in many ways.

You are far richer than so many persons who have a million dollars in their bank account. I appreciate the work you and your husband are doing.

My mom and I have always been in a bad situation. Even as a kid I always tried to do little jobs to have money to help my mom. I guess I always knew I was poor. I still work hard to scrap pennies, but we are getting buy and we are happy. I know one day we won't have to worry about this anymore. Just have to keep working.

I find that writing articles abroad doesn't seem to make money. In China, I can earn 200RMB.

I would never consciously "decide" to be poor. I consider myself to be very wealthy . Not financially, but physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually wealthy. That kind of wealth is priceless. :-)

I am not poor. Every morning, I wake up to a lovely day, warm sun shining on my face while I water my garden. I have many flowers, the bees, the birds and the butterflies kiss my flowers. The air is fresh and I look up to the blue heavens and the white clouds. Free artwork, God's paintings. I don't much money to buy food. My taste is simple. The dogs bark, the birds chirp, the people walk hurriedly down the street. Magnificent feel. I will never be poor.

Please, never be poor. I know I am not poor in spirit but I do have needs and wants but I cannot provide for them. That is what I am talking about. When do you realize you cannot satisfy those? As for being spiritually poor, no I am not. Like you, I am spiritually rich and enjoy the blessings of life everyday. That is what makes me rich.

I have not decided that I am "poor". I would like to have some more money, but I do not complain.

You made me laugh. That happens to me all the time. You are not rich enough so just go with the articles your hands can afford. I try not to desire anything I cannot afford. I have been practicing contentment.
