In Need of Sleep

I don't know why I needed so much. I went to bed at my usual time last night. However, when I opened my eyes shortly after 3, so I could get ready to go to the pool, my eyes closed. And instead of jumping out of bed ready to start the day, which is usual for me, I found myself opening them again, not a minute later, but 45 minutes later. I still wanted to roll over and go back to sleep. I was in a fight with sleep, pool, and the bladder. Of course the bladder won, followed by the pool. However, when I got home, I barely had the energy needed to study, write, and post the Daily Bible Study. If it makes sense, it's only because of the Holy Spirit who directs my Daily Bible Study. I only know it was Jonah 3 this morning. After posting it, I stared at the computer, turned it off and went back to bed - for a three hour nap. Now, I'm awake, I've eaten, finally, and I made potato soup, which I wanted to make yesterday. It's in the crock pot and should be ready in a few hours. I bought a bag of 3 pound potatoes specifically for potato soup. I wasn't expecting the smallest potatoes on the planet in that bag. I figured it would be a normal bag of potatoes, only less weight. I am glad I have a full crock pot with two onions added for the soup. So, I will be here working my notifications and visiting you, then I will be working on my novel - Thread of Evidence. I've gotten a lot of work done on it this week, and am almost finished with this revision, which feels like a first edit and revision instead of a second one. I really didn't expect as much work left on it to do, but it looks like I'm going to be going over it at least one more time before the final edit and revision. We'll see how it goes. That has been my morning. How is your day? What are your plans for today? Thanks for reading.

You have been overworked, mentally. I do this at times too. I have a load of rubbish to take to the dump, Tony is not feeling good so I get to hear him whine

You're probably right. I've been working almost non-stop on Thread of Evidence and it's a real roller coaster of emotions for that book. I'm in the last hundred pages left on this edit and revision.

My morning was kind of weird, too. I slept in and didn't want to get up even after I woke up. I have been fasting and just broke it at noon today, but I still have no energy. I need to do some things but I might not do anything unless I can get moving.

@just4him That might be it. I hate it when the time changes.

I hope you found your energy. Someone suggested it was due to the time change. It makes sense.

@peavey So, do I. Today I'm up at 2:30 AM. I know I will be taking a nap after church this morning.

I guess some days are like that - the resting needed isn't necessarily the same amount each day (for whatever reason). I often think our bodies tell us to sleep more on those cold days. Potato soup sounds great!! My morning plans were canceled . . . so now I'm just mylotting a bit before diving into some errands/chores.

@just4him Sounds like a yummy comfort food . That's what I don't like about the time change - it messes with our body clocks for a while and we do end up feeling tired.

@much2say Yes, it does. I don't look forward to the change again in the fall.

Thank you. It should taste great too. It's not putting out any aromas yet, but should soon. One person at the pool said she was having a hard time with the time change this time. I wonder if it caught up with me. My friend told me I look whipped, when she saw me. I told her I was extra tired this morning.

@DianneN Definitely was with Thread of Evidence. That one is an emotional roller coaster. I'll start back on that one in April. It's getting closer to publication, but not satisfied yet with it, so another edit and revision is upcoming. Where Eagle's Soar is another emotional ride.

About the only exhausting thing in my life is the book I'm working on. Thank God, I can now give my brain a rest for a few days. I finished the second edit and revision yesterday. You're always busy enjoying Florida. You're going to miss it when you leave.

I've had many mornings like that. But around 9 not 3. Glad you did get to the pool though, and very happy you finally ate. Hope you feel much better after that nap.

Yes, I do, thank you. I was surprised it was 3 hours. Normally the longest I nap is 2 hours, but generally about an hour and a half.

Sleep can cure many things. Is it the time change or something else that made you so tired?

I'm thinking it was the time change that finally caught up with me. Just like jet lag. I've been through that too, but that was a long time ago.

I know that when you need sleep you need sleep. I used to lay down in the afternoons but lately, I haven't needed to, however, I know that when I feel sleepy I just let myself sleep Right now my day is over and I know I will need to watch a movie before I can get to bed. Hope you have a good afternoon.
