Timothy Leary was a psychologist that became iconic during the psychedelic movement in the 1960's, urging people to detach themselves from the programming that is flooded in society, delve into their subconscious minds to explore deeper levels of reality and then return to society with a whole new perspective on how things really are. This is when psychedelic and hallucinogen drugs like LSD, mushrooms, and DMT became popular because of it's ability to encourage the breakdown of boundaries and an altered state of consciousness, which was an obvious problem for the government and those in charge that are trying to maintain a "certain level of order", and why hallucinogens which cause no real physical damage to the body are illegal and things like alcohol, which dumbs you down and cigarettes that kill thousands are perfectly legal. My question to you is: Do you believe psychedelic drugs are outlawed because they are capable of freeing our minds to truths and higher states of consciousness, or do you believe they are illegal because they are extremely dangerous, more so than alcohol and/or cigarettes?

The former for sure! You only have to listen to 60's and 70's Rock and Roll to hear the truth about halucinogens. Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir" is a very good example. :-)
