Lemon is a wonderful ingredient with many health-giving properties, and drinking water with lemon juice throughout the day is a great way to improve your overall well-being. However, there is a way you can get even more out of the humble lemon. The skin and pith of the lemon actually contain even more healthy compounds than the juice. To take advantage of them, thoroughly wash and dry a lemon, then pop it in a zip-lock bag and freeze it. When it is fully frozen, grate the whole lemon. (Tip: if you wear an oven mitt to hold the lemon while you are grating it, it will stop your fingers from freezing.) You can then put the grated lemon into ice-cube trays and return it to the freezer. Pop one or two into a jug of water at the beginning of each day and drink it during the day for the benefits of the whole lemon.

I love lemonade and lemon water.Also I squeeze a piece of lemon on salads.But I did not know about freezing the lemon,grating and putting on ice trays.Definitely going to try it.Thanks for the tip.

I love drinking water with lemon juice in it! I usually slice the lemon and put the whole slice in the water. Not sure if I get the same health benefits as doing it the way you describe. I'll have to try your suggestion and see how I like it. It doesn't sound like it is too hard to do at all!

I just slice the lemon with the skin and dunk it into water and put it in the fridge. Lemon infused water is the best, especially in the summer.

I know this trick and was trying it to lose my weight. But I started to have stomach aches. So, my doc prescribed me to stop eating lemons directly. Now, i eat it in dishes and sometimes raw in my meal.
