When Both Of Your Parents Are Sick

Our family is undergoing so much sadness.
As I have posted last December, our mother had a stroke. She’s still bedridden but can be made to seat already in her wheelchair. She still cannot speak and her right side is paralyzed. She’s having her physical therapy.
Lately, my diabetic father was hospitalized because of severe pain in his stomach. It was discovered that he has a tumor of 7 cm in his liver. His body aches are because of gout and the liver.
An operation is ruled out by the doctors because he is too old to survive it. He is 85 this coming May.
So, now both of them are bedridden, though they can be transferred on their wheelchairs.
Our father is experiencing pain. He doesn’t want to be hospitalized. He doesn’t eat solid so his food is blended.
It’s so sad that both of them is now helpless.
We are looking for alternative medicines.
Hopefully, when we find one it can make him feel better as was shown on TV for those who had them.

It's really sad to see old folks go into these kind of illness. I wouldn't want to grow old sick and be a burden to my son.
That's why I try my best to be healthy because prevention is always better. And I'm not depriving myself of delicious food anyway. But I'm giving myself and my family a healthier option.

@SIMPLYD My mother in law never eats vegetables. And I don't eat a lot of veggies too as I am not really a vegetable person, but I try to avoid any food that can harm my health.. My MIL has never been sick or has any serious illness and she's in her mid 60s.

@toniganzon Really. There is a naturopathy doctor in Salamat Doc and a lot is giving their testimonies that their tumor shrank by taking his Live Green juice- powder put into water. We will be trying that for him.

Yes, that is true. I can't help feeling so sad when I hear him sigh because of the pain he is experiencing, despite the pain reliever.
I am with you there. That is why, I am now always exercising 30 minutes a day and wake up early just to do that. I also try to eat lots of veggies and minimal meat.

Indeed.
Operation, was ruled out because he is already old, going 85 and the doctors said he will not survive the operation. Pain relievers are given to him to ease the pain.
He was brought to the hospital last night, when the pain in his stomach was severe. But still, he was refusing to no avail anymore.

I am sorry to hear that. I hope that they are okay. I would also feel the same if my parents are bedridden and unable to do what they want.

But our father, has to be brought to the hospital last night because he is feeling so much pain in his stomach.

@sprite1950 Actually, two of my sisters who separated from their husbands, more than two decades ago, lived with my father and mother. Their 3 children each, were sent to school until College by my father, who was then a judge.
Now, it's all their turn to give back to my parents.

@YrNemo An alternative doctor said he can still be treated to be well with his liver cancer. But it will cost a million or two. My father said, no more because anyway he has lived a long time already. He is 85 this May. He already wants to die and be with our Creator.

Alternative treatment methods are great options for diabetic patients. When people get old, they will suffer. But, i really becomes difficult if you have to manage both of them single-handedly. You can hire a full time nurse who will take care of them.

Yes, we are researching for alternative medicines. I hope it can at least alleviate his pains.
No need for a nurse, because my brother-in-law, sisters and nephews are there at his beck and call and with them at their house.
It's when we hear our father sigh because of pain when we feel so useless. The doctor said he is already having his last days.
