When did you move out of your parents' house?

Hello people, How are you all doing? So, I was thinking about this and out of curiosity, I would love to know when you moved out of your parents house? In Nigeria, young adults don't normally leave home till after maybe graduation from the university. It's so rare to see a young adult of 18 leaving home even if they wanted to and have the resources. So, I moved out of my parents house at 21. Immediately after graduation. How about you? When did you move out of your parents house? Image: www.stockphotos.ro

Never; we in India love family; normally girls move out after marriage and boys move out if they are posted in some other place for jobs.

One thing I love about Indians is communal living. I haven't been to India, but I have seen a lot of their movies so I can tell a little bit of their culture. And, I must say, it's really cool

I just moved out of my parents house after getting married. In Singapore due to the values we hold, we only moved out due to exceptional situation. Or when we got married

As I have planned not to marry and is employed in a nearby area of my parent's house, I am not going to move out of their house now. However, I don't know about the future.

I moved out of my parents' place when I start university. I was 19. The reason I did was the university I was attending was two hours away. So, I lived in residence for the first two years, and then I lived off campus.

I left home a couple times. First was at 19 to go to school, another was a 21 to get away from my step mothers incessant nagging

I move out in my parent house when I was only 16, I stay in friend house and serve as a household helper in order to support my studies. After high school I work in a supermarket and support myself.

I still live at home at age 25. With both my 24 year old brother, and our mom. It's expensive to live here, so none of us can afford to live one our own, plus - we're family people. There's literately nothing wrong with it, as long as everyone helps out and as long as we're all okay with it. As we're the only ones paying the rent and bills, not outsiders who mean nothing to us.

In these days it is not easy to move away as everything is so expensive. You are lucky that you get along with your family as a lot of people move out because they do not get along.

@ramapo17 I wouldn't say that. As we too have our issues. But for the most part, we're good.. and none of us would just move out over little things.

Here in our country, children usually leave when they get married or when they are stable enough to live on their own. But most of the time, even if they are married and/or stable, they dont leave their parents’ house. I left about 5 years ago.

I actually didn't move to an apartment until I got married at 23 years old. I did leave there when I was 19 to work on cruise ships and I was gone for 2 years.
