Should teenagers have access to condoms and birth control?

So, I have been thinking about this for a while after seeing a movie last month. The movie was all about a teenager who got pregnant by her boyfriend. She doesn't know anything about using a condom and birth control pills so she blamed it on her mum. So, I am asking it here for us to discuss about it. Should teenagers have access to such things? At what age should they be allowed to even date? What is your opinion on this?

I am sure you will get a lot of varied answers to these questions. I think it is the parents' responsibility to discuss these matters with their children but better some form of birth control than unwanted babies.

@ammyluv It's a problem isn't it? It would be easy for young people to become promiscuous if birth control measures are handed over too easily.

Teenagers should be at the top of the list of birth control users in my opinion. You can't control your teen's hormones, but you can educate them on how to be responsible players.

Yeah, you're right, but won't it give them more access to do it? Like giving them the license

Yes, they need to be educated about these things.

I think they must not have access!.. Instead on focusing on this they must rather focus on their career And as far date is considered it not much so they can have a interaction but not physically!..

I love the date part but it's quite difficult to monitor their activities while dating

No, because they are not responsible enough to handle the situation that married people do. It should be explained to them with the truth...that marriage than procreation anything to do with procreation. Let them know about birth control because every MARRIED couple may want to make sure the relationship lasts before starting a family. If children are taught that marriage and procreation is what is important, plus, procreation should be not be taken lightly for bringing another person into this world is a big responsibility, talks with a question and answer session too, than I believe the child will understand about procreation and the responsibilities are of it. Most of us brought up this way will respect procreation and everything there is to do with it. The child will have respect for themselves as well as others too. They'll be respectable community members not irresponsible hormone pitched people without control. They will know to honor and be honored which will last a lifetime. Didn't you like the gentleman that waited, respected and honored you? Explain this to your children and you'll be raising responsible children. Then your grandchildren will learn the same thing as you taught your children.

Wow! I can relate with it. In my culture, this is what is being practiced. I'm not sure most teenagers keep to it, but this is what we were taught

As a practical matter they should have access to such paraphernalia and information that affect their health. Some religious faith however discourages this among their followers.
