How much fruit do you eat each day?

It is not something we actually keep track of, but if we did count the pieces of fruit each day, it would no doubt be 6-7 per person daily.
We also eat an amazing amount of green veggies daily too. Those who know us realize we do not eat meat, so it just makes sense we would consume more vegetables and fruits than some others do.
Yes, we do eat some beans and seeds as well, but our main foods are fruits and vegetables.

The prices for some things have really increased here too, but because we don't buy meat, we can afford more of what we really want @jstory07

For me, vegetables are my first choice. Although some don't like this idea, we mix spinach and kale in our morning drinks to be sure we are getting plenty of "greens" on a daily basis @JudyEv

@JudyEv Organic spinach is easy to find where we are and inexpensive too, so we use it almost daily. Although I like kale, some find it bitter, so this is not always used.
It will be a great "green" growing season happening here soon, so the markets will be flooded with may such goodies.

@PatZAnthony Most of the juices I've seen people making always seem to include spinach.

@sol_cee nope. just buy one from 7-11 here, the big pale ones. tasteless. yes, i've heard and read about it before, that there's nothing like the taste of our bananas. foreigners can't forget it, filipinos overseas miss it.

@hereandthere Speaking of bananas, when was in Cebu, one of my classmates was a Canadian guy who never failed to sing praises on how good or yummy or delicious the taste of Philippine banana was in every meal we had. And I was like, really? Apparently, from where he's from, bananas don't taste that good. Well..

Fruits and vegetables keep our body fresh. I only eat 2 banana, 2apple and 1 oranges per day. Vegetables are my regular part of food. Salads also amazingly help in food digestion. I am Not a big supporter of Non-veg food.

@prakashj256 those fruits are also available year-round here, although bananas are the cheapest because the apples and oranges are imported, also grapes.

@hereandthere yeah, pomegranate is also there but not regularly i eat. Those above 3 fruits are whole season available, but others like grapes, guava, mango leeches are seasonal. So i always stick to the above 3 fruits.

I like eating fruits, most especially in the morning. It refreshens my whole body and gives me the strength I need for the day. Vegetables, usually during lunch time.

What fruits would you have there that we don't @migen1037 ? Perhaps Dragon Fruit? We find these here at times, but they are not grown in the states.

@PatZAnthony yes, we do have dragon fruits here. We have the ever famous Durian here. Never tasted it but they say it is delicious but beware of the strong smell. There is also jackfruit or we call it “langka” here. I eat a lot in one seating.

Since I don't cook anything, fruit is my main source of calories.
So yesterday, I ate about a thousand calories of bananas and some apples, zucchinis, cucumbers, okra, spinach, some fresh fava beans, a couple of Brazil nuts and some dulse.

@PatZAnthony It is now about a dozen years that I eat that way and I've seen a lot of benefits.
It really solved my constant acid reflux problem.
How did you come to learn about it?

@1hopefulman We just enjoy raw foods more than cooked and don't want animal products. It is funny that we are eating exactly what we like, but some feel we are "going without" by not eating their way.
If the first people were given only raw foods to eat, wouldn't it make sense that this is the better choice?
We do make homemade soups which would seem a little on the raw side to some and of course, our daily smoothies filled with spinach and other goodies.

@PatZAnthony doubtful as I don't eat a very good variety of foods. I am trying to eat healthier foods though. Saturday I had cereal for dinner because we got home late and I was to tired to cook. I had smashed brussel sprouts Sunday night and garlic butter cheese tortellini last night. Trying new recipes is fun.
