I don't like salads. I don't things I like and some I don't in a clump together. I like most vegetables but really like them seperate. And I am not big on lettuce because usually, unless I fix it myself, it is alot of the white part which is rather bitter and nasty tasting. Ot it is wilted. I do like the ornamental types. I love nice, ripe and sweet tomatoes, fully ripe avacadoes and cucumbers all cut in cubes with some italian dressing or home made vinegrette. How are you on salads?

I like salad, but unlike you I like to have everything mixed together. My normal salad will include grated carrot and beetroot, onion, celery, cucumber, some kind of leaves (often spinach or rocket), tomato, avocado if I have any on hand, maybe some mushroom. I do my own dressing with yoghurt, olive oil, garlic, ginger, turmeric and black pepper.

I love salads because there so easy. I just take a bunch of veggies and maybe some fruit that I like, throw it in a bowl and VOILA a healthy meal. The key for me, though, is making it myself because I don't like certain things (arugala, eggs, etc..) and know exactly how I like things so I can choose just what I'd like that moment, and in whatever way and style I want. I actually love lettuce for some reason and used to snack on it all the time as a kid, but only really like Iceberg because I find it better tasting, whereas romaine had a bit more of that bitter flavour you mentioned from the white part. Lettuce has very little nutrition, so I try to substitute it with spinach or cabbage or something with more nutrients, just as the base of the salad and then add things I like more, like pumpkin seeds, raisins, tomatoes, corn etc...But if you like food seperate (I prefer the salad method just because there's so many little components and I'm lazy so throwing them all into a bowl is simpler lol) then just eat them seperate. It's just as healthy.
