Bike in the city

Yesterday was the first day of the year when I went to work by bike.
As it is early spring, the weather is not too warm, there are only a few bikers on the road. It is safer now, because the drivers are more patient.
During summer many people ride the bike here and it can cause some troubles. There's no need to have a driving licence here to ride a bike. It causes that many people cycle without knowing the rules of traffic. It can be dangerous.

Riding is great. I think there should be some kind of license to make sure that the bikers know at least the basics of transportation. Otherwise it can be unsafe.

It's good to know that you also use a bike to go to work. I also think that it is exercise and I am always happy when I can say at the end of the day that I cycled 10 km.

Yes, it is wonderful. This morning I was riding to work and I watched the rising sun and its rays on the river. These moments can take my breath away.
I hope that you will have the chance to ride a bike again.

@bunnybon7 It is true, age can stop people to do such activities.

@anikoonline That's nice, my friend. If I can only do that here, I will. It wasn't popular in the city and there is no lane for bikers, too.

I have a safety helmet that I always wear. I feel that it is important. And I always use lights to be visible for the drivers.

@epiffanie There are some bike lanes, but not everywhere. I prefer the routes where there are because it is safer and it is easier to ride on the lanes (I don't have to focus on cars so much).

I also prefer smaller streets. But sometimes I have to ride on main roads, which is quite stressful.

It is safer if there is a designated bike lane on the road; yes, it is really dangerous to ride a bike along with vehicles on the road.

There's one huge problem wth bike lanes in my country. The drivers like parking on there. And it is more dangerous when there's a bike lane but you have to go into the car lanes. And it happens very often, I usually see 2-3 parking cars on bike lanes on my 4 km route to go home.

Yes, I can save the money that I would use to buy a monthly pass for public transportation.
