Do You Believe In This?

Someone just sent me a video on "time & pace" where an Headmaster was talking to his students on why they shouldn't feel bad in life. According to him, there is time for everything on earth. In his words "Everything in life happens according to our time, our clock. You may look at your friends and think they are ahead of you or behind, but everything happens at their own pace" Then, I remember that I have seen a quote somewhere about it; "Someone became a CEO at 25, and died at 50, while another became a CEO at 50and lived to 90 years. Obama retires at 55, while Trump starts at 70. Everyone in this world works based on their "time zone"?. Everyone is running in their own time." Do you think hard work doesn't come into play here? Does it mean, no matter how hard I try, if it's not my time to achieve that particular thing then, I won't get it? Please What's your opinion on this? Image: Pixabay.com

I firmly believe in one thing god helps those who help themselves! I don't believe in his /her lecture which is more philosophical than practical! A hard working man can never be a failure but an intelligent man without hardwork can be a failure at any time! Thanks @ammyluv!

There is something to it. But hard work means you'll be ready when an opportunity comes your way. Both the young CEO and the older one were likely hard workers!

I think that if we work to do something, we can have it earlier than if we didn't do the work toward it. Using your examples, Obama was trained from an early age to lead in the politics of the US. Trump's run for president is sort of a crowning glory to a life of achievements (with some failures). Trump has a long history of working toward other things that culminated in the experience while Obama deliberately learned those things in a shorter time but missed the experience (and, one might argue, fun). While some things are pre ordained, I believe, what we do and/or become in the world is pretty much up to us.

Time is human construct. outside time has no relevance the way we see it.

I still think GOD has a reason for all of our existence. Right now I don't feel bad because I have a quiet life.

I think there's a time for everyone and everything.I always believe in destiny. We may work our butts out but if it's not our time to succeed our efforts are close to wasted.Yet, there are times that you're only doing less effort but it results in greater things.Maybe it's luck or a blessing, for sure there's an external force that dictates whether you'll be successful or not, and when is the best time for it to happen.

Exactly! I totally agree with you except the luck part. I would rather go with blessing

I guess there is some truth in this. I think the danger would lie in just drifting along thinking that nothing you are doing is going to help. Which is what you say in your last paragraph.

I believe that is where patience comes into play. You are right that everything will come together at the "right time" for every individual, but never think hard work doesnt pay off. Patience makes the reward even more gratifying. :-)
