Are you a sporty person?

I have never particularly liked sport not even as a child at school. I was hopeless at netball, hated hockey, had no agility when it came to gymnastics .. I just wasn't a sporty person and come to think of it my PE teacher couldn't even remember my name!
As an adult I enjoy swimming but that's about it. I like to watch tennis on the TV and I might tune in for the Olympics but that's as far as it goes.
Do you enjoy sport either watching or playing?

@sprite1950 no. I participate in these things at a very leisurely pace. Just to be outside enjoying the world.

My dad was a golfer and he used to take us on putting greens as children. I quite enjoyed that,

@LadyDuck Yes everything costs. We used to do it on holiday sites where they had these putting greens because it was free once we were in.

@sprite1950 It is a shame that in Europe it is so expensive. I have stopped playing now that we do not go in the United States anymore.

I like playing sports when I was a kid. I was into volleyball, badminton, and track and field. I like exercising when I was a kid. As an adult about two years ago I was into cycling and not the ordinary cycling commute. I go for speed like 40km/hour and go far. I love swimming and snorkelling and more than once a year you will see me in my bikini in the middle of the sea, snorkelling.
But I don't like watching sports on tv unless it's the NBA finals.

@sprite1950 It's been a year since I rode my bike but yeah I still look good in a bikini. Plan to go to an island on April 9th. Hopefully it pushes through coz I miss the beach. The last time I was in one was last December.

Me too I was good at swimming when I eventually learned to stop swimming like a three legged frog.
I was enormously flexible but not atheletic which had the Gym Teacher puzzled a bit.
I walk and trot a bit and do stretching things all I can.

Its difficult to swim around here but its something I like as well.
Walking is the main thing I do all I can even if I am hurting somewhere I still go at it but much more gently.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I've been very lucky with my health. I have a few age related aches and pains but nothing serious. I need my health so that I can raise my granddaughter because there's no one else who can do it and she would go into care.

I paid for my granddaughter to have swimming lessons and she swims quite well now. I don't swim as often as I should but I do enjoy it. I also walk as I have two dogs although I don't jog.

Snowdrop66, I was not great a sports when growing up. I liked bike riding, roller skating and did cross country skiing and ice skating but was not good in gym and watch football and tennis at times and baseball but did participate in them. Now, I am not really into watching The Super Bowl or other sports here on TV. I have a different life here.

No, I was in the lowest group for all sports at school (although they did teach me to swim - eventually).
When I was 13 the school announced that they were going to introduce a whole new range of sports, including golf and orienteering. I was delighted because these were activities I would enjoy and be good at. Sadly they never happened.

@asfarasiknow I went back to do A levels as a mature student in my twenties. I did English and Sociology and found it more enjoyable than school as it was more relaxed and I actually wanted to be there. I got two Bs which I was pleased with.

@Shiva49 I could never see the attraction with cricket. My dad was a keen player but I was always afraid for him. Once the ball hit him in the nose and broke it and another time it cut his head open. I'll never forget coming down the stairs one morning as a child and seeing his white boots covered in blood.

@sprite1950 Listening too. I started in 1963 listening to commentaries mainly cricket and tennis.
For cricket, my favorites were Brian Johnston and John Arlott and for Tennis Dan Maskell and Max Robertson After TV came it became a different ball game altogether - nothing left to the imagination!
Like the vast majority, I couldn't pursue sports. I recall one Olympics medallist telling there were many better than him but he was lucky to get the breaks - siva

I enjoy watching sport like cricket and athletics - but I was never the athletic type. Years ago , a woman's cricket club invited me to join the team - but that was an absolute no. Maybe if the game was played with a light ball like a tennis ball - which is impossible of course.
