Taking Things For Granted

When I plan, I always assume that there would be no sudden mishaps or accidents. Yet looking back, I often had my holidays wrecked badly, like a beautiful weekend turned bad with no water whatsoever; or some Easter Breaks with rushing the kids to the hospitals (one 2 YO had pushed a pretty bead into his nostril. He sneezed it out without telling us! Another (4YO) cut her foot while using a piece of her father messy tools to stand on in order to climb up to somewhere else).
Those times, I was busy cleaning kitchen gadgets and the kids were supposed to be cared for by their father.
This Easter break, I had looked forward to having a good rest, yet what happened? The internet has been down for the last 30 plus hours. Lucky that I could use some data from my cell phone. As it is, the service support staff advised us by voice mail that they do not work until this coming Monday. Wonderful internet service provider, right?
Hope you are having a good Easter break. I am still praying for some miracles here. (Who would have thought that my internet connection would go down like this! From what I read on the internet, many suburbs in my city are facing the same crisis.)
Have you ever planned anything perfectly, only to see your plan got unplanned for you?

OH yes! It happened several times. One year we went from France to Italy to spend Christmas all together, my mom broke a foot and she spent Christmas in the hospital. My brother decided to go play tennis with his friends and we were left in the apartment of my mom alone. Guess what? That was the last time we went there for Christmas.

Your reply made me think of a case: the whole family, mother father and three teen children booked their tickets to spend a whole month in HongKong. On the day they were supposed to go to the airport, the mother fell, and had to be rushed to the hospital for X-Ray. Doctor's order: no going anywhere for at least two weeks so that all the tests and etc could be done. The whole family canceled the trip!

I have lost count of the number of times these sort of things happen to me.

@YrNemo Rather than wishing you Happy Easter I think my wishes for a smooth laundering experience would be welcome I bet.

@allknowing I am thinking of where to hang out all those wet clothes after washing them. (I have been cleaning the house, putting things away etc but decided not to touch the laundry due to the Easter break. Things have a habit of accumulating! )

That's why I don't make plans and do things spontaneously.

Yes alot. That is why we decided that we do not plan anything - it would either not push thru or something nasty will happen. Whatever of the two. So it is better to do it impromptu. It happens 90% of the time.

@YrNemo I understand. I would not be so happy too if there are interruptions (electricity, water and internet) is gone for quite a long time. I would be flustered. The other day we didnt have water too.

I was so sure that my plan was too simple to be wrecked. Yet, it got wrecked regardless.

Yes, plans get broken all the time. Or messed up.

Who would have thought that the internet connection would be gone like this, and that no one could help us! We paid them for the service didn't we? (Awful isn't it!)
