i tried this diet for about 10 days, where you are suppose to eat less then 30 grams of carbs a day. after the sugar withdrawal syndromes were gone, i did feel better, and i have dropped 2 kilos, but still, it felt like this diet is not right. at least, not for me.. i mean, you can't eat a carrot but you can basically chug a glass of melted butter. any thoughts?

Give it a chance. Your body needs time to adjust to burning the fat and not the sugar. Do supplement needed proteins, vitamins and minerals. You can make a high in fat milkshake or smoothie and add protein to it. :-)

It is a very strict and hard diet, but it is effective. I always suggest that if you can loose weight with an other diet, choose the other one. Ketogen diet almost always helps even if no other diet helped.

@danakat Yes, paleo diet is less strict. And it contains carbs. Maybe you should give paleo diet a chance.

Is this a variation on the Atkins Diet? I tried that for a couple of weeks years ago and lost some weight but felt really ill so I switched to a low-fat diet, which was highly effective and I felt better.

@asfarasiknow im not sure what is the difference between the diets, i do think that for the long run, some how, the keto diet is healthier, but i am not sure :)
