Did you have a happy childhood ?

My childhood was quite happy despite the fact that we didn't have a lot of money to provide for our basic needs. Although I had many siblings, both my parents were keen for us to have a proper education and always believed in us. I had many friends whom I played with and I was a popular kid.

I would say I was happy although my parents used to fight a lot. They both loved us though and usually had their arguments when we were in bed. They divorced when my sister and I were grown up.

@august18 Oh it was years ago now. My dad remarried although mum stayed single. They are both gone now and I can remember them both fondly despite the fact they didn't get on.

I remember you mentioning the issue of your parents being divorced in one of your discussions if I 'm right. I'm really sorry again.

That's really bad. I'm happy that didn't affect your life and your brother's life in anyway.

My childhood holds happy memories...until I was about 10 years of age. After that the memories aren't all as pleasant.

Yes, I had a wonderful and happy childhood. With one parent, little money to spare for fun, and many "friends".

@august18 having one, or both patents, doesnt determine a happy life.

Yes, I had. My mom made everything she could to give me a happy childhood. I think happy childhood is not about money, but the quality time that we spend with our loved ones. My mom was always there for me and we had a lot of fun. I wasn't popular, rather introvert, I enjoyed reading.

@august18 We see how much effort our moms did to create a safe and happy childhood for us when we are adult.

That reminds me of my mom. She would wake up at 4 a.m to make lunch and go to work at 6.30 so that when we go home from school at midday, we would find something to eat.

I did have a pretty good childhood. I had two loving parents, who made sure that my sister and i had love, food, a room over our heads, and what we needed.

I did have a happy carefree childhood even though until age 11 we had no running water, and no electricity. There was a lot of love and our parents made sure we got everything we needed.

We have almost the same childhood and family except that we did not have much time for play as we spent the time watching over our store after school. No regrets though as I still enjoyed my childhood.

My childhood had its ups and its downs, but overall it was a fairly good one. I was always a loner so I kept to myself most times and was very content.

It's those ups and down that make life worth living. Without them, it would be just routine.
