I tore a ligament and had to be on crutches (IT WAS HORRIBLE!)- but I have never really broken anything before. Have you ever broken a bone in your body?
How much did it hurt? How difficult was it to live normally while it healed? (for example people who break their dominant hand or arm..)
Thanks in advance for responding :)

I sure have... I have broken three bones in my body. I broke a bone in my right hand playing basketball. I broke my left wrist playing softball, and I shattered my nose when a softball hit me in the face. And that is the extent of my broken bones.

Shame that mustve been sooo terrible I can't even begin to imagine!
Did everything heal properly or do you still have any problems as a result?

I am an expert in braking bones LOL. I broke both my arms at the same time when i was doing showjumping. The worst was I broke them by splitting them long way down the bones. I had to go trough 2 operations, the doctor place pins and srews in my arms. It healed after 8 weeks and my arms are working perfectly again. Then a few years later I shattered my color bone from a motorcycle accident. Then again the doctors placed steel and srews in to rebuilt my color bone. I do not have the steel in my arms anymore but I still have the steel in my color bone. So I can tell you it is sore when you brake a bone, but when they put surgical steel in you and the pain afterwards is the worst you can ever think of. And I can also tell you... You do not know what you have until you loose it, try tying both your arms behind your back and try get through the day.

Thanks for the response :) I was wondering what kind of percentage of people have or haven't so I also wanted to hear about people who have not broken anything :)

I feel the same - I don't want to go through that pain and inconvenience EVER.
We are lucky then :)

I never broke a bone, but I did dislocate my right wrist and I am right handed. It was horrible, all my ligaments were torn. I had to have surgery, they put anchors in my bones, sewed the ligamnets and attached the ligaments to the anchors. Then they had to put pins in my wrist to stabalize it. I was in a cast for 4 months and healing took over a year. I had no use of my right arm for months. My right arm and wrist are still not what it was before, it still hurts some. Rainy days makes it ache. It would have been better if my wrist had been broken verses being dislocated.

When I was a baby, my brother pushed over my highchair and I broke my collarbone. I don't remember it, though. Luckily I have not broken any more bones since then.

I broke my nose when I was 9 months old. I fell out of my crib and so, naturally, landed on the largest part of my body. ;)
I don't remember it, but I'm sure it must have hurt like hell. I badly sprained my ankle once (the doctor told I'd come close to breaking it) and that certainly hurt a LOT. I can't imagine what breaking a bone would feel like, and I'm glad that I don't remember it.
