When I was13 years old, I made my first public speech. At that time, I don't have the fear of talking in public, cause I was a kid. But when I grow up my fear of public speaking grows too. Many of my friends said that public speaking is so hard, that made me think about it, developing Unwanted fear in me.
Now I am an Intermediate public speaker in my college after made fails and wins over the past 3 years.
What about you? Are you a public speaker? Do you still have the fear of speaking in public?
Comment below, your experience in public speaking.

I am not really into public speaking as I am very shy and get cold feet.

Why you feel shy? Don't think about other people who make fun of you. Be brave and speak confidently. You are what you want to be

@mlgen1037 That's right. Speaking with the thought of no one around you, removes fear.

I never liked speaking in front of crowds but in my lifetime I had to in certain jobs. I didn't like it but it came with the job. I got through it and would do it again if I had to. I became president of a couple of different organizations and had to speak. I also became a teacher in one of my jobs so that was a must.

@rebelann It was hard for me as I get very red in my face and I can feel me turning colors but I put my mind up to it that I had to do it for my future. Some places are easier than others and some crowds are easier to speak to than others.

Some people say that focusing on one person when you are speaking and eventually you will overcome it. If I could do it anyone can.

Start by practice singing infront of a mirror. Then move on to speaking infront of mirror. Practice, ,practice, practice a lot. You do anything BT repeating and correcting the errors

Sadly i am not anymore. when i was younger, i can speak in front of them. I can do emceeing or anything of that kind. I became the best speaker in my argumentation and debate class. But years gone by, i trod a different path and i never have the chance to do it again. Now i don't want the feeling of speaking again in front of a crowd. I wish i never stopped doing something that i do like. Because it is never easy to do it again..

I hate to speak in front of an audience. I am more of a one on one person.

Well In beginning it takes courage to start but once you completed 2 lines positively. Then you get the flow and you won't face any issue. Similarly it takes a while to get settle. But once settled I I don't have problem.

You're correct. But even if you have the courage, you can face sound issues.

You are right as the feeling of the audience can really help you or ruin it for you.

I used to have social anxiety and speaking in public was my worst fear, but working in call centres, studying acting and speaking with the Toastmasters, I have overcome my social anxiety and am now comfortable with speaking in public.

I made my first public speech when I graduated from elementary, it's a valedictory address, I just memorized it, my teacher made it, I was happy because I delivered it successfully..

I honestly feel better speaking in front of a crowd than talking to a small group of people. But I know that most of the time I won't see that big group again if I am to make a fool of myself. But speaking in front of a small group, I will probably have to see those people again and if I make a mistake or something I can I always feel them saying something or judging me. I am an introvert, so people exhaust me in general, but I actually like speaking in front of crowds.

I had the same feeling too. It can be eliminated by repeating and correcting the mistake
