What do you think about discussions on myLot?

Hello, everyone! I check the feed of discussions on myLot almost daily, but for the last days, I find that I just read some of them without writing comments. Actually, I have nothing to say for most of the discussions I check. Have you ever felt like this? I would like to ask people with a big life experience (not only elderly), don't you find some people's discussions naive? Their attitude to life, their problems or concerns. When I read them, I just smile but have nothing to reply Do you find it necessary and respectful to read your comment or discussion before posting, not to make obvious mistakes? Personally, I think that anyone can make a mistake, but if there are too many of them, it means that someone even does not care about his readers. I use the Grammarly extension, created by Ukraine entrepreneurs, to avoid typos. I think it shows my respect for the readers. At the same time, myLot guidelines state that we should not blame people for mistakes. What do you think about it?

I just respond if it really needs it. However, it is a discussion platform. Thus, I tend to engage after reading the discussions.

Yes, there may be many discussions which may look silly to us but I think we need to think from the angle the person who has posted it! So irrespective of the matter or content of the discussion I try to contribute what ever I can to the member in the form of my response! Thanks a lot dear @MashaVickina!

If you check Mylot Rule book then it states that - I don't have anything to contribute to a discussion, should I comment on it anyway? - If you have nothing useful to add to a discussion, you should simply move on and find one to which you can contribute. Simply replying with “I agree!” or “thank you” will likely result in your comment or response being removed. You may, of course, use the ‘Like’ feature to show that you have read the discussion and the responses and comments and think that they are worthwhile, even if you have nothing to say. I usually don't comment on all the discussion, the discussions on which I can comment, or I add something or discussion which remind me of something. But some do attract me to comment or sometimes just to like.

@MashaVickina I understand and respect your culture. But since it is against a rule, your comment may get deleted.

That's great Yes, it has a point, but in my culture, we normally reply something like "Thanks" or "I agree," so I should learn just to use a "like" button

Hello, dear! No, I just men very obvious mistakes like the wrong capitalization, too many typos or 3-4wrong letters in one word. We all make unintentional mistakes I guess. In comparison with native speakers, most of the foreigners are not fluent

I am new here. I felt the same about many discussions. There are good discussions and there are few which I found naive and not worth commenting. Even in comments and responses, I find some people just putting irrelevant statements. Clearly shows that they just want to grab earning points without any value additon. Well I am new here and that is my understanding

We have to respect the myLot guidelines and if we don't like a topic then we can just move on or write our own discussions. It takes a bit of creativity to respond to some discussions but people may have different concerns than we do and it good to be friendly to all.

The discussions are mostly about people doing in their daily lives and what they want to share.

@MashaVickina I see a title and it looks interesting but then when I read the article it may not have anything at all to do with the title so I may skip it and go to something else.

Hello, on a forum we can find any kind of people. Those who have difficulty in grammar, those who not have no it, those who write only in SMS language and those, as me, who do not speak fluently the language origin of the forum (thanks to reverso.net ;) ). It does not prevent people from expressing itself. I know that sometimes it is very difficult to read and to understand somebody who does not master the language, but we can be a little bit indulgent. I have to admit that what bothers me most, they are comment in SMS, very difficult to read for me.
