Are you happy with your writing skills?

Of late, I feel I tend to drag my sentences, making them longer and longer. Even if I don't, I feel the link is not being established clearly. Earlier, I used to have in my mind five points, point one, three sentences, last sentence has something that open grounds for the next point and so on.. but now i feel I am clubbing the points and in the process becoming repetitive. :( While language has improved, clarity of expression has taken a beating.

@vandana7 That probably comes from being on the site a long time. It's quite difficult to write perfectly all the time, to keep the interest alive. I think we become sloppier over time.

@LadyDuck You underestimate yourself Anna. Your English is always clear and your grammar good.

You are a very good writer. I would use you as an example of being accomplished,

You shouldn't feel like that vanny as your writing skills are fine but I know what you mean. Some people just add that something special to their posts. I don't think I can ever match that.

@Jotomy Target Gary Marsh, Maluse in so far as language is concerned. Target pgntwo and Anna in so far as knowledge. Target DE, JJ, Pony and many others in so far as humor is concerned. Nice mix eh? Long way to go...though. LOL

As long as you can make yourself understood that's the main thing.

I don't know that I would want to be a serious writer but I often look at what I've done here and think "Sheesh!" What are you doing!

@WorDazza I'm not sure that would be my forte either. Think I'll just stick to MyLot. Do write outside MyLot?

I think we can all feel lazy at times. Sometimes I make myself write and then I really get into it.

@sprite1950 English is one of my first languages. So, I probably should be better. But considering I spoke two languages growing up can be a challenge, but I still probably should be a little better. I do find that your writing here is really good. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Perfect can be overrated.

I'n English so I feel I should be word perfect .. but I know I'm not. There's room for improvement no matter who we are.

@dodo19 I would love to be bilingual. Apparently the best time to learn another language is in the first 10 years of life as we are geared to learn them during those years. I don't have any excuse to be bad but having said that some English people write appallingly as can be seen from facebook!

Yes I agree and I hope that I can improve as time goes on.

I know exactly what you mean. Although I am quite sociable there are times when I just want to sit behind a computer screen and talk to people.

@sprite1950 I need to pull away from the cares of this world, they are so overwhelming, at times.

Exactly how I feel. I probably couldn't talk to most of the people on here face to face, but I have no problem talking to them online. I don't like small talk and I hardly ever start conversations with people I don't know. Online I feel like a social butterfly!!

@rheicel You get practice here. I admire anyone who speaks a second language as I don't.

@sprite1950 Yes, it's much fun having a long conversation. I still need to practice and study well the language.

You don't need to here though. If you make your discussions and posts too long people just skip them.

@anikoonline I've learned that since I came here so I try to make them somewhere in between, not too long but not too short.

@JESSY3236 I have just submitted a test piece on Textbroker but I'm not very familiar with HTML tagging so I don't know how well I will do. Do you find the work easy?

I would think you have a huge following as those shows are very popular with adults and children alike.

I can understand that. I've never wanted to write a book which is why I belong to sites like this. I can write uncomplicated stuff and then go off and not have to worry about it. Your writing is fine
