The "What If" Question?

Philippines

I was thinking of a lot of things and then I just blurted out “What if?” What if the world is made of chocolate and marshmallows? What if my dog can speak my language? Funny thoughts, really, but they just happen in movies. But seriously, we all have asked the “What Ifs” of this and that. Yes, life is full of questions and one of them is "What If?" One of mine is "What if I am a man instead of a woman?" I laughed at my answer, "Maybe I'm a good looking man with six-pack abs." I don't know, lol. But I thank God He created all things wonderfully. What is/are your "What ifs"?

What if I can remove hatred and suffering in the hearts of people, will the world be a better place to live in?

If we only could, it would be heaven.

@neelia_lyn yes but there is nothing wrong in hoping that maybe someday it will. Or will it just be pure utopia?

The "what if" question is one of the best tools in the writer's toolkit. It stirs our imaginations and can lead down extraordinary paths of fantasy. Keep asking it.

Yes, that's true. The answers to the 'what if' questions are interesting.

Sometimes I think of what if I would have made another decision in my life (like jobs, carrier, love). But it is not a useful and good way of thinking. We have to make the best from the life that we decided to have.

Yeah, I do that too sometimes and it just leads to many sighs - "if only". You're right about making the best from what we have now to avoid the 'what ifs' in the future. Thanks.
