The Visitor at 3 in the Morning

Last year I was talking to a neighbor of mine and we were telling stories. She told me that her husband and her were sleeping one night, when the doorbell rang and woke them up. They wondered if something had happened and someone needed their help, but they didn't want to go answer it. They didn't hear it again, and went back to sleep. In the morning, when they got up and were outside their house, they looked at the button for the doorbell, and discovered the identity of their visitor. Around the button was a muddy paw print of a big bear! It seemed that the bear looked into their door, to see if it saw anything interesting, and pushed the button. They were very thankful that a second ring never came!

Wow, lucky they didn't answer the door. I wonder who would have been most surprised?

I doubt they would have got an answer if they had asked who was it before opening the door.

"What did they say?" "Sounds like they have a bad cold, maybe they need cough medicine?" *I hope it's grape flavored.* thinks the bear.

@Debscrochet Hurricanes are more destructive, but I guess bears can be scary. They look pretty cute to me. :P

I've been around black bears a lot in my life. I threw one into a barrel, I knocked one out of a tree, and got one to stand up in front of me, because it was annoyed. They've always ended without confrontation.

Hahaha. They should have invited him for a cup of coffee. He's their visitor after all.

I think his behavior would have been unbearable for a guest.

Identifying is important. The ringing of the doorbell. How many are using doorbells currently?

I tend to knock before I use the bell. I feel like the bell can be loud and intrusive.
