A date? Duh!

The shriek was shocking. Like a child's.
I gave my daughter the look. What accounts for the childish demeanor?
"Ma," my daughter shouted, "Kristine is going on her first date."
Okay, the shriek is justifiable. The situation is not a normal occurrence.
Oh well, Kristine is my daughter's bosom friend. She's traveled the world, drives her own car, and intelligent enough to choose the jobs she likes. But, she has never dated. Once, she had a crush in college, and that crush has long married another gal. Kristine does not entertain suitors she feels no affection to. Dismisses in askance those who attempted to court her on the first verbal try.
"Finally,": I whispered. "Good."
My daughter continued. "Dani wants to tag along."
What?" I yelled this time.
Dani is another bosom friend.
"Kristine is dating at the Mind Museum. Dani has not seen it."
I'll be damned. I said to myself. These girls are acting like teen-agers. Gosh, they are 27 years old. Sigh.

Hahaha my friends and I would always tag along whenever our other friend would go out on a date. We would actually pretend we do not know her and sneak around hahaha

Louise, do you know that 27 is the legal age for young ladies to marry without the consent of the parents? These young friends are acting like they are 17.
You and your friends are naughty, the fun-loving way. I hope the dates were good.

@eileenleyva Eileen, I never know about that. I thought by 18, there is no need for consent from the parents. Thank you for the info.
Remembering those high school days when we get so giddy when we see our crushes hehe
It was good and fun, my friend.

@eileenleyva naughty reminds me of an officemate. he said when someone in their barkada got married, they rest of the group booked the room next to the newlyweds so they can't enjoy their honeymoon

Let them enjoy their youth while they still have it. If I had a date at my age (53) I'd be twittering and shrieking too!

Yup. Actually, I was most happy for Kristine. She's a beauty and a truly virtuous lady. I wanted her to fall in love. That is why I did frown when the date was going to be at a museum, with a friend as chaperone.

Yes, a virtuous young lady like Kristine deserves someone who would love her.
