What should we do with one of our first projects?

This afternoon I’ve been moving clothes from this clothes rack into our new wardrobe. Then I realised the rack is one we made for our son some 20 years ago. Vince had just bought a welder and needed some practice; our son needed a clothes rack so we set to and made him one. It is on wheels and the top bar has a plastic cover. I think maybe the top bar of the rack is going to be missing in the top photo which is a shame but the bottom photo shows how it all comes apart and can easily be transported from one house to the next should the need arise. The rack has been in constant use for all that time. It is only fair that we find some way to repurpose it. Any ideas on what it could be used for apart from hanging clothes from?

I have one that I also use when I move clothes from a cabinet to another. May I could use it for hanging wet shirts to dry.

@LadyDuck @Icydoll We have three like this. The other one were bought by our sons and left with us when they left the state. I use one in the laundry for hanging shirts on too.

I have one rolling rack left from when I owned my store. I am moving it to New Brunswick to use in the basement on Laundry day. I've also seen them used to display artwork and quilts.

I forgot to say I have that is use to hang wet shirts on. They need very little ironing if they're dried this way.

@judyev Now I could use that for hanging my home made spaghetti or lasagna sheets over to let it dry.

That's a good idea except that I don't make spaghetti. Do you really make your own? If you do, I'm impressed.

I would use it in the laundry, I have one too, used for drying things that can’t go in the dryer.

I already have one in the laundry but I might put hanging baskets on this one.

I have two solid metal ones, They are at the old home place. I use them for yard sales but I need to put one here for hanging wet shirts out to dry.

We had three altogether. I've kept one in the laundry and no doubt some use will turn up for the others.

It's strong and several have suggested using it to hang hanging baskets on. It will look better as a rack for hanging flower pots than as a clothes rack.

It's a bit ungainly looking but it is certainly solid.

All for repurposing, but as what is a bit beyond me. Have to be something that requires no effort!

That's awesome! You could hang a tapestry on it :-) Make it into a room divider.

YOu made this rack 20 years before. And it looks good now. Maybe something glue can help you to repair it.

It isn't broken. It is meant to come apart so that it is easy to move from one place to another. It has stood up to its 20 years well, hasn't it?

@fei1125 If it is kept inside I'm sure it will. Maybe one day it will be a valuable antique. What do you think? (I'm only joking.)

That rack is nice. I think re purposing it is better than throwing it away or selling it.

@JudyEv Yes that is right. It is a way of conserving the item. It is good for mother nature too.
