Can you i be a good person without religion?

I think good or bad does not relate to religion... Even the people believe in religion maybe a bad person.................There is a joke before, a wolf prayed before he eat rabbit, the rabbit saw the wolf prayed said they have the same religion. But after praying, the wolf eats the rabbit.....

Of course you do not need a religion to be a good person. Hurt no one and be nice, do your best to help those in need, do not be selfish and you will be a good person.

U don't need religion to be a nice person but certainly to be redeemed!!! Niceness can't save you!! Jesus can!!!

@Ancheeh In my opinion,if you are a good person,you are a good Hindu,a good Muslim,a good Christian....all at the same time.

We can do everything in our life without religion. We were not born with a hashtag of Particular religion. So religion don't influence our goodness as a human. You are good being yourself.

No. So does it mean if a person does not go to confession to be saved, that person is bad? Or if I am an atheist or agnostic, I am bad because I do not believe in God or religions? Being good comes from the heart and it has nothing to do with religion. Being compassionate comes from within. It is innate, while religion comes from outside and it was determined to us when we were born.

I am a secular person and believe that all religions are to be respected equally while i believe in only one religion that is 'Humanity' and I am quite happy with it as need not pretend and have dual personality in the name of God! Thanks dear @Ancheeh!

Religion is just one of the many ways we can be guided on how we are going to live our faith on this earth. You can have religion but if you don't follow the teachings so what will happen? It's like having the law but you're just breaking it. It's good that we have religion, it's good that we will have a community that will care for us and sometimes remind us that we are not doing the right thing. But It doesn't always follow that those who don't have religion can't be a good person. We have instinct and we have understanding so religion or no religion we know what is right and wrong so let's be guided by our conscience... Better we think of the golden rule, Do unto others do unto you.

Religion makes you a good person, thats a tolerable fact. But if you need religion to be a good person, you must be not a good person to start with. People should use religion as a choosen path to find 'something' more than the good way of living life.

There is a saying that no religion can save only God can save us and I believe on that. Not all religious person is a good person sometimes it's just a facade.

They obviously haven't spent any time in a war torn country where the people are killing each other over religion. (As it is written in the Bible; "Thou Shalt not Kill") That seems to be one of the things that gets overlooked while they are preaching "good and moral" values. Hypocrisy at its finest.

Having a religion doesn't mean you are a good person, and vice versa.. as long as you don't hurt other people ..
