Back to MyLot... Back to rant!

Hello wonderful people! How are you feeling today? I've been gone for quite a while, until I got the most unexpected reminder from one of the nicest, kindest and friendliest people: @thesupersingh ! I've been running quite a lot this last month, I went to my home country and after I came back I had to catch up on every chore in the house, and work only piles up lol... My professional life screams "suicide" right now... I have a wonderful job, I work in a great place, surrounded by the best people you can find. The problem is, I'm not hired by this company, I'm just a contractor. So the real boss is a... well... it's hard to find politically correct expressions to describe her! An immature, chaotic, stubborn, bullying and disrespectful... person. She does things her way and then makes me cover for her mistakes. And she is also very ungrateful. She ignores my emails and calls and basically the only contact I have with her is when she needs something. She is the only relation I have with my stupid company. Her assistant quit and now she hired a new one, a young little thing, who is completely terrifyed and powerless. So I received a call a couple of weeks ago, from my company's "Quality Department". What quality department? What do they even do? I train and motivate my staff everytime there is a change or even the slightest need to do so. My company never provided me with anything for this. And now they wany two years of detailed statistics so that they could show off at some fancy meeting about the work "they're doing".... They charged ME with everything! I've been browsing employment offers, applying and giving hints to people I know that I want to change my job. The thing is, my professional self-esteem is so low that I don't sell myself enough to employers. Everytime someone compliments my work, I think they're doing that only because they're kind. I'm always too modest and reserved and I'm so attached to this place that if they don't hire me internally I really don't want to go anywhere else... Has anyone of you had a similar experience? How happy are you with your current job? Do you ever experience difficulties? I could use some advice....

I had your problem, low self esteem, but I was lucky always to find good jobs. I am retired now, I have worked many years with my husband as his assistant.

@MaciMaci I am enjoying my retirement, even if I have so many to do that I am busy all the time.

Hello Maci. Well, for one female bosses can really be such a bi**h. I had one last year. I do not work for a company now. Just managing my small business and some online work. Sometimes things difficult but I managed to keep things better. I think you are great and do not let your boss say otherwise. Have confidence in yourself and you will go far.

@MaciMaci Youre most welcome, Maci. I actually told her about the things she was doing to the people and she got mad at me. hehhe I actually resigned from that company and many others too after.

Well I guess for most of the employees out there experiences what you are going through right now. It may not be exactly like that but somehow similar to your situation. I think the best that you can do is to really look for another job if that makes you unhappy with your current employment. Start sending your resumes to your potential and I guess one will get to be impressed by you. When on an interview try not to bring the negatives that you have in your current employment and bring in what is good in you because that is what employers are looking into. Avoid telling your current situation so as not to bring negative vibes to your potential employer.
