What do people think about your writing?

I am the only one in my family who enjoys writing although they all know about it. I remember talking to someone who said she was slightly uncomfortable about telling people that she liked to write to earn small amounts of money because some of her friends had laughed and said it was pointless because the amounts were so small. Everyone who matters, all my good friends and family know that I enjoy online writing. I suppose they might find it slightly amusing but they know it makes me happy. I would never be ashamed of what I do. Do your family/friends know that you write and what do they think of it? Do any of them also write?

My mother pretty much told me I am a writer. I could talk to her about something and she would laugh at me or tell me I was "full of it", but if I wrote it to her she would read it in fascination. My daughter knows I write. She has read some of my articles and she was surprised to read the many positive comments I received on them.

That must be a great feeling. No one reads what I write even though they know I like to do it.

i was able to get my kid brother to write on bubblews. he had 3 posts then he thought earning $50 was not achievable. my son and sister knows i am into writing in this site, but they don't want it.

Bit like me. I remember when I first started writing on Bubblews it was only $25, then they put it up.

@ridingbet I think they couldn't keep up with payments when it was $25 so they increased it to $50 to give themselves more time to to cope with them

Hi SnowDrop! My son loves writing too. However, he likes writing poetry. In my case, ever since I started earning through writing, I rarely write poetry anymore and now I usually write blogs, web content, product descriptions, and so on. However, no one can say that I earn little from it as it is just a sideline aside from my job as a public high school teacher. I also have clients on different freelancing sites so writing helps me earn significant amount of money. Usually, my family asks me for a lunch or dinner treat on payouts.

@sprite1950 I still get enough sleep usually since when my husband is not working on a project, he takes care of the household chores and it's summer vacation now so I don't have to report to school.

My families are not very supportive of it They just want me to get a normal job, live a normal life and probably die a normal way which is not quite what I plan

I appear to be the only writer in my circle of family, but I think a couple of my friends do some writing. My husband would be more impressed if I made enough money to pay all my hosting and application expenses. I will probably close some of my blogs and start one that better fits me. I'm just not motivated to post to my current blogs right now.

None of my friends/family write online. My husband and my niece know I write online and most of my friends also know. They never laughed, they could not believe that you can make money (even if not a lot) writing online.

@sprite1950 Hi Snowdrop66, I think you were one person that said you liked my posts and some others have said that. I believe the people that laughed at the thought of making some money do not understand. Sure it is not lots but to me every little bit helps me financially and it can add up to a nice amount. I keep mine in PayPal and it can grow there and if need it in my account then put it there and start all over again.

@sprite1950 I like doing this type of work especially FC and here. I feel like I am connected to like minded people who appreciate what I have to say and how I feel. I don't get that connection from offline interaction with people. Well I do sometimes, but I like my online friends. Like you, I also feel that I am learning things all the time and it keeps my brain active.

My family all want to read my stuff, but for the moment, that's not allowed. I let my aunt read some of my stuff in the past, and she thought it was terrible. So family has been banned since that time. As long as my current readers continue to read and purchase my works, I'm good with that. I had some recent stories given 5-star reviews, so I'm happy about that.

@sprite1950 Apparently, she's a super critic, so it's in her nature to not like things. I think she doesn't like most of the published works out there in the world, so I shouldn't think too much about it. It did make me angry for a while. Compared to the time when she read something of mine, and when I wrote these stories, I have read hundreds of stories, so I'd say I have absorbed sufficient levels of creative material to be able to weave at the very least, a simple story. She wouldn't approve of these either. lol Thanks!

Pretty much anyone who knows me knows I like to write, and most who read my work fiction or otherwise, they tend to enjoy what I do. Although my fiction is in the horror genre, so it is not for everyone, but I don't write the gory stuff. I am the only one in my family who really writes anything, for fun or otherwise.
