@andriaperry An excellent avocation, I think. But not so good as a vocation.

I say that can be therapeutic. Mine is having a massage and looking at the see. Paradise.

@mlgen1037 Nothing wrong with that. I do miss Santa Barbara sometimes, where I could hear the ocean from my bed.

@TheHorse Yes, once I experienced that when I was on island vacation. But now, I just hear the sound of it in a dvd player.

@TheHorse - Your balcony looks very peaceful. My two favorite peaceful activities are taking yoga and walking on the beach.

@DeborahDiane Me too. I miss jogging on the beach to clear my head. I did that when I was a graduate student at UCSB.

@TheHorse - There is something about being near the water which just seems good for the soul. I always feel better when I have spent an hour at the beach.

Writing and playing senseless video games where you do nothing but garden, fish and collect stuff. LOL

Meditation works wonders for me. It's helped my depression, my anxiety, my tinnitus, and most importantly, my faith in God.

@TheHorse -- mindfulness (focusing on the breath), and I love to meditate on the 23rd Psalm. I learn something new every day about those six verses.

I have several. One that no ones knows about ( most do not care what I like) is listening to the Bass Violin, I can listen for hours. Mowing grass with the push mower because I am alone and with only my thoughts. A good novel locked in my bedroom and nothing on in th house. Working with my plants.
