I discovered, or maybe it is - I rediscovered - Youtuber Michael Jamison during Minnesota's mid-April blizzard. So with my slow cooker on, and cake in the oven and the snow coming down, I happened across "Tiger man" as I've dubbed him - on Youtube, while searching for something else. In fact I don't even remember what I was looking for originally, when the thumbnail for Michael's video which features him, holding his wrist in a tiger's mouth. Yeah, you read that right , and yes, Michael and his wrist are both fine. The tiger knew not to bite too hard, amazingly enough. So I watched that one and I was hooked. Michael lives in South Africa and as such, he has an amazing accent. His videos, of which there are hundreds, maybe thousands - detail his life in South Africa with 2 tigers, a bunch of monkies, dogs, cats and his girlfriend. Occasionally Michael will talk about his past, his life, but usually Michael will let us observe his tigers (mostly) and other animals - while talking about their behaviors and his various thoughts on life in general. Michael easily could have been a motivational speaker - his is very compassionate and all of the animals seem to be in good health, well cared for and happy. He lives in luxury - the house, from what we can see of it - is very nice, a mansion, and he has a large , well maintained paddock for his tigers, and another well maintained area for the monkeys. In spite of having a ton of cats , dogs around the house always looks very clean. And occasional we see a glimpse of Michael's sports car. Even though he does live is such nice surroundings - he never seems arrogant and seems to truly appreciate his many blessings. Apparently Michael is in import and export, though someone else said that he had been a soccer player. I don't know if that's true since I don't follow soccer. (Maybe some of the sports fans on here know?) Anyway , it's a daily dose of happiness and relaxation. I do wish that Michael's videos were a bit more linear or that he had an official website with a timeline so that new viewers like me could catch up... but, in all this is his style, so it's all good. If I understand right: Michael got the tiger called Enzo first. Then for awhile he had Ozzy, but Ozzy passed. After that Michael got Diego. Now I'm hearing about Whiskey - another tiger. Does he have 3? Maybe? (That's where I wish he would make a website, but, yknow..) Anyway! I will now share the happiness with you. I think, if I could visit anywhere, I might just choose being Michael's houseguest :-)
Lining up to take a picture! Tigers walking! Pool is clean! Waking up with monkeys and kittens! Whisky will be getting an operation ! Vegetarian cat only eat...

I know one of them was a rescue... that's why I wish he had website to compliment his Youtube channel. Maybe he would hire me to do it. My payment I would settle for being a houseguest! :-)

He is obviously very much an animal lover .. I enjoyed watching that video but I can't help thinking that those tigers don't have enough room there to run around ..

@FayeHazel I suppose they're not like dogs who need a lot of room to run around ...

@epiffanie Seems like they only run for short sprints. It's pretty when they run

Ah true that. The tiger enclosure does seem like it could be a bit bigger... but then the tigers never seem to run very far, very long - like lazy housecats lol. I wish they would more, it's beautiful when they decide to sprint

True! Caution would be the best. No matter how tame they seem, they're still predators....

It sounds like a fascinating lifestyle. I don't know if I would want to be around tigers like that, but it is good they are well cared for.

True that. No matter how friendly they seem - they are still predators. When they were cubs, he kept them in the house. When they got bigger - he put them in the paddock but would still go in there with them. Now, I notice, he doesn't go in with them, but will pet them through the fence. It sort of makes me sad, a person would like to think that they're harmless, but I think it's wise he does it that way

I haven't watched him for a bit, but he's so relaxing, not something you'd think from a man who raises Tigers lol

Seems rather interesting. Mundane perhaps. But interesting. Amazing to me sometimes what we are drawn to on YouTube.

So true - sometimes you watch thinking it will just be the tigers walking around, or napping, and then, while you watch... there will be some interesting fact or idea he'll mention. A lot to see on youtube

I could not be Michael's girlfriend or wife, but then he would choose someone who shares his loves and interests. I Do not like getting close to animals of the wild.
