For me as I venture further into the musical world of the 1990s as they say the forest thickens. Anyway, in 1994 the biggest song of the year was “The Sign” by Ace of Base. It spent six weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It is a song that I am familiar with but do not particularly care for.
The Song of the Year was “A Whole New World”. A song a really like and I am also a great fan of Disney cartoons and this is from “Aladdin”. This song won Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocal and Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or for Television.
The best song of the year was “Closer” by Nine Inch Nails. I will never know what people enjoyed about this song. First of all, I think the lyrics are very offensive and second I would never even consider listening to it. Luckily I have never heard it. Maybe our music experts can clarify what is good about this song.
What do you think of the songs and artists?
This is probably the most recognizable Disney Masterpiece moment, outside Once upone a star. A Whole New World not only takes it's place in animation history...

NIN is an acquired taste. Closer was big on alternative radio. Trent Reznor wrote Hurt and does movie scores.
