Do you talk to dead people?

There are a few people I've lost that I sometimes confer with when I'm in a rough spot. Among them are my father, a professor on my dissertation committee, and an ex-girlfriend who died in a horseback rising accident. All are people I hold in high regard, and I sometimes consult with their memories when I'm am trying to figure out "the right thing" to do. Do you have people like this? People with whom you have imaginary conversations while driving, sitting and reflecting, or falling asleep?

I think about the advice certain people might give me, or the decisions they might make. Thinking of their actions influences me..

Same here. Some of my "pretend conversations" occur when I'm driving, or otherwise free to think, without interruption.

I can`t. I won`t open up for them to follow me, I know its sounds weird but sometimes I see them, not my people but ghost in general, I do not know who they are. I often do a salt cleansing so they cannot come in the house. I now talk to the dogs and they understand me perfectly.

I talk with my father... not only imaginary conversations. I see him sometimes and also my grandmother (the mom of my father).

Where do you see them? I see people (in real life) who remind me of people I've lost. But never real people or apparitions.

I do. And when I head to the Bast grove to tidy it of weeds, I talk to Godiva and Samyot who lie in peace there.

@mlgen1037 My feeling is that they (those we've loved and lost) become a part of us.

I don't talk to them but think of how they would have dealt with a situation!

I'm not sure that I'd go so far as to say I talk to them, as that sounds kind of...odd. But I can almost hear their voices "discussing" the situation with me.

Do you have some who have gone before you that you really miss talking to? Or at least really respected?

@TheHorse My mother had a really good friend that we called 'aunty' although she wasn't a blood relation. She was a very wise woman but fun as well. I would love to chat with her sometimes.

Absolutely. I hold conversations with them in hopes of figuring things out and turn me in a direction to make the right decision.

Oh, I do that too. Interesting that a main part of the "therapy" I do for the "troubled kids" I work with is hiking, just like my dad and I used to do when I was young.

I have people I desperately want to ask questions about their own lives. But as far as seeking guidance during my low times, I turn to my music and my writing for that. I've learned to embrace the fact that I'm a special kind of crazy, and I've gotten used to my roller coaster life.

I try to allow myself to "feel the moment" during low times.

Don't stay like this. All the creatures in the world take rebirth most of the time unless its a salvation. This mindset will disturb you. You feel emotion, you hold it for days and then you should forget it..yes you will still feel for it here and there but wouldn't matter much to you. Sometimes I also dream of my favourite persons who are not alive but I wash it as soon as I wakeup.

I go down memory lane in my mind to bring a smile to my face. I talk to only my Mother's picture at times, remembering the song... what do I do with only your picture to talk to, that I heard on Golden Girls that Dorothy sang that stuck. My Mother passed last year in July. But I talk to her picture when no one is around.

Though I may not converse with them I do seek their blessings especially when I am in a tight spot. Then when my mind is free I think of them. As I know their ways when they were alive, I seem to get a clear message from them. Apart from my father, I have many who were close to me and they seem to signal to me that they would not be disturbed but I have to ask them for help to get it - siva

I don't thnk I would do that. First they can't talk back and if they do talk to me I might die. Second when I drive I concentrate on the road so I won't die Sorry this is serious . .
